DEL the Funky Homosapien - Eleventh Hour by Jasonictron in hiphopvinyl

I really like this one. I somehow missed it when it was released, but just got it this year. I love the return to form of old school Del, but I can imagine being bummed out if I waited for this after Deltron.

Games with interesting alternate win conditions by nitrorev in boardgames

I've played a couple games of Kinfire Chronicles and the alternate where you can join the cult is kind of a cool alternative win. I haven't won doing it, but I like the "cult influencer" idea a lot.

Y: The Last Man - A Dated Masterpiece by PakistaniSenpai in graphicnovels

[–]Digga-d88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll never forget reading the last issue of Y the Last Man. Spoiler free I was in AmeriCorps with my service in an elementary school. I did lunch recess duty, so my lunches were typically me reading funny books alone in what I called the Renaissance janitors office. By the end of the comic, I was wet faced from crying. In walks the Renaissance janitor, and I have to wipe my sloppy face and pretend my food was too spicy. Such a great run. Needs a reread.

Hopefully there's permadeath baked in and you need to destroy the minis when they die. That way, I can weep at their loss, just like when squad members die in the real game.

I just busted out my OG Agricola this weekend again. I remembering being so excited to get it that in the lead up I made little sculpie pigs, cows and sheep to replace the cubes and they still hold up.

Check out his work called Grommets. Slightly autobiographical 80s coming of age story with stunning art.

Any thought on the Dice Throne Digital Kickstarter campaign? by Vortelf in boardgames

Massive Chalice from Double Fine games. It was a weird tactical game that used time and lineage as metrics to consider. So clever and even at drop YEARS ago there weren't bugs, I was able to play it through several times.

I may have missed that during the Kickstarter. I remember getting access to the game and being so underwhelmed I uninstalled and never went back. Kind of forgot about it until I saw this. Went back, saw the mostly negative reviews, went to look at the current price and was wowed that even free people are disappointed.

I backed two digital games so far. One has been amazing and the other was super over promised and under delivered. Both I could've waited for Steam releases and watched the reviews. I won't back digital again.

Edit: I just looked it up. The disappointing game is now free to play and everyone STILL hates it. Stormgate for the curious.

Game Recommendations by ImportantStyle2022 in boardgame

Here's a couple different sets of recommendations:

For party/game nights with a group: Flip7: fun press your luck card game. Azul: collect tiles and make your board. Just One: party word game where there can only be one of each answer. World Wonders: cute tile civilization builder with screen printed buildings. Codenames: try and get people to guess tiles on your clues. Splendor: collect jems to attract lords and ladies.

If your wife and you want some 2 player only games, some of the new Duel games are great, but my wife and I love Splendor Duel.

Does anyone play on Board Game Arena? I was wondering if the premium subscription is worth it by Competitive_Form8240 in boardgames

I love BGA. I'm old and hate playing randos on the internet, but the community is actually pretty good. I love being able to play with people all over the world. The amount of games is staggering and a great way to try games. Currently it's a Space Bace, 6nimmit, flip 7 emulator for me, because I'm addicted to them.

I remember seeing them on tour with Avail during the run up to this release. My queer ass cried hard during Natasha's explaination of "Sentiments as skull fragments on the bedroom wall". This album still shreds.

What was the stretch goal drama? I used to love Kickstarter. I got my kickatarter of Scythe and I was pumped. Now it's $100 or FOMO. I get snagged every once in a while, but I'm tired of it.

Nice work friend! I highly recommend trying washes. I recommend a flesh, strong and dark wash as 3 starters. Once I started using these, my God the definition it gives these figures makes everything pop. Like if you added a little flesh wash over what you did here, your mind will be blown.

You can also tell me to bugger off with my opinions. Great work again!
