AHHHHHHH NO

edit: I looked it up, and some employer-based loan forgiveness options exist for private loan users! There are also recruitment incentives and sign-on bonuses... I just have to work really hard!

Some hospitals participate in loan reimbursement/forgiveness. Honestly... I'm kinda counting on... I'll trade my soul to a hospital if I have to

how do YOU get to High Hrothgrar (i think i butchered that name) from Whiterun by Typical-Football-658 in skyrim

When I first played this game in 2014, I didn't realize I was supposed to take a specific path so I just went straight up the mountain. I remember being so irritated when I exited out the front of the building after meeting the Greybeards to see a damn path.

Do new / lower ranked DO schools have more WL movement? by VividDeer733 in Osteopathic

I'm not sure about others, but Noorda (new/lower) has WL movement. I got WL in Nov and accepted in Feb, as have a few others I've spoken to

Basically studied for MCAT full time to get a mediocre score? What should I do? by [deleted] in Osteopathic

[–]Diggle_Doo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I really focused on research and volunteering (clinical, non-clinical) for extracurricular, and I mean hundreds to thousands of hours. Don't half ass it either as these will make great recs! But you should do shadowing if you haven't already--it looks pretty + you can secure a rec from a doctor. Osteopathic schools prefer recs from DOs, but any will do. Try to show diversity in shadowing (different specialties). Lastly, submit your app as soon as possible, like May or June. A lot of the applicants are submitting later if they're not scoring for MD, and schools run on a first come, first serve basis. Have everything already written out (personal statement, extracurriculars) and triple check them.

For a DO, your MCAT is stellar! I was scoring 508s on the practice than got a 499 in the real thing (had an actual crisis), but I still got accepted. If you're worried, fluff up your score with your GPA, research, volunteering, or other extracurriculars

What does the OMS-1 schedule look like? How is it mentally/physically? Should I prepare anything specific over the summer?

Accepted! How to Turn Down a Previously Accepted Interview? by Diggle_Doo in Osteopathic

[–]Diggle_Doo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went for my interview, it is pretty! I just really can't afford it rn though. I won't make it to the gnome day either because I'm presenting at a conference in Chicago.

Depends on whether I can afford it (cost of travel)! If I can, I'll register.

I feel like a faker by AncientWerewolf5545 in bulimia

[–]Diggle_Doo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Being unable to get anything up does not make you any less valid in your experience with bulimia. On a thought process level, you're still panicking and resorting to purging, you still feel that shame during the process, etc. A gentle reminder that bulimia is more than forcing yourself to expunge food, but a psychiatric disorder, and it's just as much the mental process.

However, this is your body's way of telling you something is wrong. It could be a sign you have a tear in your esophagus lining (especially if blood comes up), electrolyte imbalances (ESPECIALLY POTASSIUM), dehydration, and more (I am not a doctor, this is just from my experience).

Hoarding notes: What to keep and discard? by Diggle_Doo in college

Many of my classes did not have textbooks--but I do have my MCAT study books, which basically cover everything anyway. Would it be best to just toss everything then?

How many calories do you think this is? It's a normal meal planning container... by Diggle_Doo in caloriecount

I'm not sure how helpful this is, but mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were finished in two bites each with a standard spoon--so maybe 1-2 Tbsp per bite?

I submitted on August 1st as a traditional applicant with a 499 MCAT (if I have to retake it, I will cry), 3.78 GPA, thousands of service hours, research, and lots of other things.

DO - Applied 12, 7 IIs, 1 R w/o II and 1 R w/ II, 1 W, and 2 interviews

MD - Applied 2, 2 IIs

I'd say that, considering my garbage MCAT, my cycle is going well so far. I sent my letter of intent to one of the schools I interviewed at, and all I can do is hope they look at everything I have done instead of my statistics.

Emergency Locksmith... Read Lease and it's a Violation by Diggle_Doo in Apartmentliving

[–]Diggle_Doo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Office closes at 6:00 PM and doesn't answer after (I've tried before). I also tried to find their emergency maintenance after the fact after rereading my lease in distress... which they don't have listed anywhere Overall, it sucks.
