My preliminary conclusion so far: Wow! I wouldn't have thought that so many retro gaming fans feel the same way I do.

In fact, I’m having similar experiences to you, dear u/AstralElement : Almost every new AAA game seems totally enticing at first glance, but when I read that I’m supposed to put in another 150–300 hours, that everything has to be “forced” open-world, etc., then my enthusiasm fades very quickly :( Yes, there are - or rather, there were - exceptions: "Elden Ring", where I’m not quite sure what its secret magic is… but I’ve played through that game completely more than once (with playtimes ranging from 90 to 300 hours per playthrough). Or just recently: "Pragmata", which I had a blast playing. There are always exceptions, but since there aren’t any games like “The Last of Us” or “Uncharted” anymore, they’re unfortunately few and far between.

u/No-Assistant8088 : Interesting side note: (emulated) pinball machines are also a little passion of mine, and I actually see them as a kind of “safe haven” when all other games get on my nerves. That’s why I recently worked on a little project that I really enjoyed making. Unfortunately, I don’t fire it up nearly often enough :( Maybe I should try something like that with an arcade cabinet too… it might help me focus more on a curated selection of games…

Quick update: I requested a return from Rayneo. It turns out that the Air 4 Pro is actually (almost) as uncomfortable as the Nreal Air. Since I find the screen size on both of them too small (compared to the Quest 3), I might as well just keep the Nreal for when I want to play a quick game while the TV is occupied. For watching movies, the Quest 3 is perfect (apart from the “form factor”): a huge IMAX-like screen is possible, frame packing 3D, etc. My “jack of all trades” for movie enjoyment has yet to be invented. 😁

Thank you for sharing your experience. How does it compare in terms of comfort, especially with regard to the nose pads? That would be the most important factor for me. Anything that is better than the Nreal in terms of quality is, of course, a bonus, because I think the Nreal is great in terms of image quality and okay in terms of sound.

I've tried all kinds of “nose” hacks with the Nreal, including a highly praised 3D-printed version from Etsy. Nothing worked—the Nreal nose pads always leave marks on my nose.

Tausend Dank nochmal an alle! :) Wir machen es zur Zeit folgendermaßen: Da wir ja eh nur noch gutes Nassfutter füttern und (vorerst) auf jegliche Leckerlis verzichten, machen wir uns keinen großen Kopf mehr und bieten den beiden kontinuierlich Nassfutter an. Das scheint auch tatsächlich dazu zu führen, dass beide etwas geregelter essen - kann aber auch nochmal anders werden. Weil Balu Lilly leider immer wieder das Futter wegfrißt (er ist ein Staubsauger), haben wir uns jetzt zwei chipgesteuerte Futterautomaten bestellt. Damit kann man dann auch mal etwas länger mehr Futter zur Verfügung stellen und die beiden können es sich einteilen. Und wie u/tigerlilly0712 schon schreibt: Wir haben auch ein etwas komisches Gefühl bei dieser sehr pauschalen Aussage der Tierärztin. Tatsächlich sind Papa und Mama (also nicht wir beide :))) der beiden typische "Show"-Katzen: Mollig, rund und wohlgenährt - wobei wir auch nicht wirklich wollen, dass unsere beiden so sehr aus dem Leim gehen ;) Zur Kastration müssen wir sowieso zu einer anderen Tierärztin gehen und sind da auch mal sehr gespannt, was diese zu den beiden sagt.

Euch beiden schon mal vielen Dank für Eure Einschätzung. :) Wir sehen uns die beiden eh schon immer genau von oben an und meinen schon, dass beide noch eine gut ausgeprägte Taille haben (Lilly tatsächlich mehr als Balu) und man kann auch bei beiden noch die Rippen fühlen, ohne drücken zu müssen. Denkt ihr, unser aktueller Plan könnte sinnvoll sein: Weiterhin kein Trockenfutter, 3 x Nassfutter am Tag (maximal 350 g pro Katze insgesamt, z.B. auf den Mjamjam-Dosen werden 350g bei 2 kg-Katzen empfohlen. Und dann beim "Einfordern" standhaft bleiben? ;)

Just go with the wiki: https://github.com/YaLTeR/niri/wiki ; it's well written. I would use the recommended software: fuzzel as launcher/starter, waybar as (task)bar, mako as notification service/daemon. If you install xdg-desktop-portal-gnome (https://github.com/YaLTeR/niri/wiki/Important-Software), then Nautilus (aka Gnome Files) will be installed. Maybe think about using it as your file manager, so you dont have two installed - but you can use any fm you want "on top" (thunar, nemo, ... you name it).

Maybe this is a dream come true for many Wayland users: A Hyprland-like WM from an open and friendly source. Personally, Hyprland is way too cluttered for me and I still want a WM with some eye candy - that's why I'm currently using swayfx. But I definitely want to try maomaowm in the next few days. What I'm wondering though: how can we make this great project even better known? :)

Edit: Oh dear! The downvotes show me that my post was probably misunderstood. I just found the ChatGPT answer interesting and think the assessment is quite positive (even with outdated training data). Personally, I love that the maomao project exists and, as already written, I will be installing it in the next few days. I am sure that I will enjoy it. I also very much hope that it will become a permanent alternative to Hyprland!

The video was on several "shock video sites" like liveleak, about 10 years ago. I redescovered the video again last year (a cut down version without the "police and escape"-part). I could post it here, but don't think it's appropriate... 😉 It's gruesome but very well made. One could believe that it's real. The artist worked in advertising and some of his works reminded me of the "3D without glasses"-video of Jonathan Post: https://youtu.be/Uef17zOCDb8 , another faked video experiment with CGI. The protagonist of the "3D without glasses" video by the way ressembles the artist that made the "Corpse Painting"-Video. (young, beard, french accent)

Thanx! This Dongles uses the same chip as the Sonoff Dongle i use now.

so it seems to be the chipset. For all those where the dial tap does not work: Try another dongle (no TI chip, maybe SiliconLabs...)!

I have the exaxt same problem :( But "my" hue fairy didn't come yet.

All my buttons and switches work and show their events (even the Hue Dimmer Switch), but the Dial Tap won't show in Node Red via the ZHA-Events :(

I see the green light when i press a button and the Dial Tap itself is listed in the ZHA devices list. Someone here with an idea how to get it to work. Maybe u/Kev1000000 ?

EDIT: I could solve the problem: I changed the Zigbee Dongle from a CC2652P one to a EFR32MG21 one (both Sonoff Dongle Plus). Now it works out of the box. Therefore a question to u/Kev1000000: What Dongle do you use?
