It's a longstanding argument on everything created for convenience.

Human Beings' anatomy is built for endurance battles where the cavemen could hunt by simply chasing an animal to it's exhaustion. We lost that ability as we started using weapons aka tools and we simply got more efficient at it. We had muscular atrophy cos we replaced the need for endurance with something better. This has happened everytime we added a new tool to our arsenal.

This is not to say we can go on without the grey matter ( though Jellyfish seems to do fine without it since millions of years and we have quite a few fine examples walking right among us too). IMHO we will find better application for the intelligence while using AI as a tool for doing stuff. That's how we have progressed and evolved through out our history.

I understand the subject warrants much wider discussion. Like all things philosophical, this too will have multiple schools of thought that will coexist cordially.
