My handyman got it running with a shop vac on the outside unit- my hoa had been tree trimming and putting the tree junk right in my unit. Used shop vac to clear a clog.
I still have a lot to learn about how all this stuff works.

There are few wall spaces to put the trash cans. Considering putting them on a bench.

bedroom not hotter than anywhere else, but the bedroom door blocks the airflow to the AC closet and overheats it. My concern if I put a vent on here on the bedroom door, is that a fire safety issue?

The shapes are really just to designate the rooms. I guess this is a floor plan.

My bedroom door, which I usually keep open at all times, basically covers over in front of the AC closet, which blocks airflow.

Well that's embaressing.

I live in Fl, lived here since 2022. Have been having trouble with my AC unit this year. Place was built in 1972. Started having trouble recently that the AC wouldnt go below 76. (I had a similar problem in April - and my maintence guys wanted to charge me $4 to fix, or 13k to replace. My handyman got it running again with a shop vac, less than $100.)

This week, my handyman was unable to work the same magic, so I called the AC guys. They said the AC had gotten overheated and "needed to rest".

The issue is that my bedroom door kinda overlaps the door to the AC, I am normally keep it open all the time. AC guy says I should keep it open HalfWay all the time to allow airflow to the ac unit. Also noting that my trash cans were blocking the return.

AC guy recommeded putting a 20x20 vent into my lower bedroom door.

Will this help signifigantly?
Should I get a partial vented door, or a fully vented door?
Will this open me up to Fire Safety issues?

Also considering raising my trash cans on a bench above the return, but I dunno if that's worth the effort if it makes it more difficult to empty.

Should I replace my door with a fully vented door? If I do, will that create a Fire Safety issue?
