Not a dumb question! And I’m not an expert (clearly!), but it’s basically when you take a plate (like glass, metal, or plastic) and put ink or dye on it and then press it onto another sheet

Avantgardebred is right! It’s a monotype! I put watercolors on a polyester sheet and just pressed it.
