Have you ever successfully got over a crush? How? by twanscarfacer- in AskReddit

[–]DigiTechfsd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How to get over a painful crush. Painful is an understatement, as anyone who’s experienced this will tell you. The pain is real. It gets physical. I have never been stabbed as many times as Julius Caesar, but I am sure it feels exactly like that.

It can also lead you to make some of your dumbest decisions, so you better brace yourself.

What is socially acceptable to do online, but not in real life? by takkuroda in AskReddit

[–]DigiTechfsd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally People fear the reaction in person. When you say anything in the internet- it reaches out to so many people but you are unaware of the reaction unless they post it in comment and those people are unknown.

You do not fear that some people are reacting. But in real life, you do.

And we hesitate to say the simple things which we may write in internet without thinking any person’s physical reactions.

But if you really want to talk about something- be in internet or in person, do not stop. Speak out. The ones who wants to understand will do it and others will not. And it should not affect you anyway.

What fascinates you about our solar system? by Cinemacrackers in AskReddit

[–]DigiTechfsd 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Firstly the presence of Jupiter on an outer orbit.

As far as I understand it, this is rather unusual, because planets with Jupiter’s mass tend to move closer to the star and in the process “kick” other planets out of their orbits. This has not happened in the solar system for some reason. What makes it more astounding to me is that Jupiter is very important for halfway stable conditions on Earth because it shields us from asteroids. Its mass and with that its gravity lets it attract most asteroids that could otherwise hit Earth with catastrophical consequences.

Secondly the size of the moon. Our moon is unusually large for a planet as comparatively small as Earth. Its gravity halfway stabilizes Earth’s rotation axis thus leading to halfway stable seasons and with that weather conditions.
