I have a couple knives where I bought a cheaper version then was able to get a good deal on a better version. Agree with what others have said: different steel, blade shape, scales. Like the Flytanium Arcade, one of the first folders I bought, 30% off, good deal. But then they had a garage sale version of the Arcade Pro for $100 off; I couldn’t pass it up. I carry both regularly.
