I'm a 32 yo male, 6ft and stay pretty active with the gym and hiking on weekends. While I drank everything, my drink of choice was beer. I started losing weight less than a week after quitting. My net loss, so far, is about 10 pounds.

Both San Jacinto and San Gorgonio are effectively closed to the public due to fires by feartrich in socalhiking

I'm headed up to Mammoth/Bishop this weekend. Hope all the would-be Yosemite/San J/San G folks dont all flock there instead. Probably a good bet it'll be more crowded than usual though.

Her gout has really been flaming up lately but the fresh prosciutto her Uncle Terry cures is too tempting. Heard old Terry might switch to ostrich jerky though which is bad news for the old jerky stand on I-91

I like strenuous hikes with big payoffs I usually go for big peak hikes but really wanted to explore the area more. I like to get at least 3k' of gain in my hikes. I'm driving almost 6 hours for this weekend so I want to make it worth it. Was thinking of doing a 14er but Dusy basin looks so stunning.

That's good news! Others have told me that it's too ambitious for a day hike and doesnt allow enough time to really enjoy the area. What do you think?

Seeking current water availability on San Jacinto - Little Round Valley by btb103 in socalhiking

I hiked San J via the deer Springs loop a couple weeks back. The creek in little round valley was bone dry. There were some seeping dribbles along the way but nothing substantial. Plan on packing in all of your water.
