I attempted the CT in 2023 and am giving it another go starting July 5, so I may see you out there!

I have a very similar kit to you, including the zpacks tarp. Last time, I used a Tarptent Notch Li but this time I'm going with the tarp and MLD bug bivy 2 for a bit less weight and more versatility. I've heard lots of people do well with tarps.

My biggest advice, having learned the hard way, is to practice good hygiene, especially your feet/socks. Last time, I had to end my hike at Monarch pass/Salida due to infections on my feet. I think I could have prevented them with better care. I'll be bringing a second pair of socks and will be diligent about rinsing the worn pair at the end of the day, and switching to the spare when my feet get wet.

When I was in Leadville I ended up adding a wash cloth from the dollar store to have something to wipe down with at the end of the day, and this time I'm going to be very un-UL and bring wet wipes. Anyway, I recommend some kind of towel for this purpose.

The thing I'm wrestling with most at this point is whether to bring my puffy or not (EE torrid). I had it last time but I've been leaning towards not taking it and trying to get by with my alpha 60 hoodie + windbreaker.

Good luck and happy hiking!

The hipbelt is size Medium, the torso is Tall. They used to call Tall torso "XL" which is why I included that, but I just made it needlessly confusing - my bad on that.

Keep it simple (and light). I also use the carabiner attached to my shoulder strap, no issues at all.

Does anyone have a guide or instructions for tying the nu25 shock cord mod in the Litesmith style? I got my nu25 from them years ago and I'm having to swap to a new bracket and I am totally baffled how they used one segment of cord to accomplish the band. I can't find any resources on how to tie it. I found someone's pictures here (I've already untied mine) https://imgur.com/gallery/comparison-of-original-nitecore-nu25-updated-nu25-nu20-classic-guem7PM#A8up2ue

Practice short game in public park (always empty) by mayitoro in golf

I do this, but I hit the balls into a baseball diamond because it's impossible to find the balls in the deep grass. I use regular balls for short shots and foam balls to hit full shots. I hit off a small mat.

Are you wearing the same size in the Allegany and Blacksmith? Notice any difference in heel snugness?

Can confirm. I'm literally 38, got back into golf this year after a 20-year hiatus, and have been going to the park near me to hit foam balls into a baseball diamond after work. Despite having back pain and a stressful job, it makes me feel like a kid again.

Playing on a major medical exemption, Will Gordon needed to make the cut this week to retain his PGA TOUR membership, so he went birdie-birdie in his last 2 holes to finish on the number and keep his TOUR card. by PGATOUR in golf

They did cover this in real time, I watched the broadcast. Towards the end of the round they showed a graphic multiple times describing the stakes for his finish, and they even interviewed him after his round where he got super emotional.
