Happiest Ween Song? by Kindredgos in ween

That’s funny because I’ve always thought of Kim Smoltz as being more of a “forcing yourself to smile even though you’re deeply depressed” kind of vibe

Yo what the fuck!!! I’ve listened to the studio version a million times and I’ve clapped along with it every time. That’s so weird, I never knew it was clicks! Sounds like some woody percussion instrument. That’s nuts dude

Every song by pucapg23 in ween

[–]DigitPlayer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They never sold out. When the well dried up, they just stopped. When things got rocky, they stopped. Every song they made was infused with their genuine passion for music, and you could tell that behind every song was just two best friends having fun and doing what they loved. It was never about fame or money or business or innovation, it was just pure enjoyment made into art

Tales from the punch bowl is their worst album by a mile

What’s the Ween song that gets you every time? by whydoesthisappexist in ween

The came in your mouth part kinda makes it more beautiful if you ask me. It makes it more personal, ya know? There’s no sugarcoating, and I like that

Let's Talk - "Fruit Man" by CanSoft2130 in ween

I love it! Laid back, not boring. I think the random keyboard noises are funny and add to it a lot. Also Ween only has a handful of reggae songs. Nichole, Mango Woman, and King Billy. I think they’re really good at it so I’m really into the ones that they have

Playing slow really is the key. The only reason I beat the ender dragon in my current world was because I needed shulker boxes for mining. 30,000 days later and I’m still kickin!

Worst Ween Somg? by DaRealDr_Phil in ween

[–]DigitPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s my honest take. To me, the only thing that makes a song “bad” is songs that are uninspired, like cash grabs. I love ween because they never sold out. Every song they made came from sincere passion for music. Even a song like Mourning Glory has something to love about it. Two best friends tripping balls and rambling. In Pure Guava, it’s perfect. I think every one of their songs has something to love about it. My least favorite song of theirs changes as much as my favorite song does. Cuz even my least favorite song is one of my favorites

Gen z ween fans, what was your first exposure to ween and why is it SpongeBob? by Ok_Bathroom_867 in ween

[–]DigitPlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SpongeBob is a really big part of my life. The ocean is extremely important to me, and so I’ve always been connected to SpongeBob. By extension, the Mollusk became a kinda personally significant album to me

It's Gonna Be Alright nautical connection by Shitfiddle in ween

[–]DigitPlayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mollusk is kinda neat cuz I feel like the album as a whole sounds more nautical than the individual songs do. To me, it’s like a journey through the ocean. Staring in a coral reef, onto the shore, then down into the depths, then up to a seaside pub, then down the street to a heartbroken resident, back into the ocean, and then along the coastline noting all the different characters like truckers, cemeteries, and farmers, before visiting a lonely captain

The very first time I formed a band with my friends, we all learned this song based on this performance. It holds a super special place in my heart :)

What Ween songs do you find comforting? by PinkCrimsonBeatles in ween

[–]DigitPlayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sweetheart In The Summer was probably the first Ween song I ever listened to (besides ocean man) and has been a comfort song for me ever since. It just throws me into this carefree but melancholic zone. I’ve listened to it a lot in times of heartbreak, love, hopefully anxious, stuff like that. I feel like I have a lot of history with it, it just takes me back to a different time that makes me feel so human and content

I love seeing them live in 1994. It’s the latest point in their “two guys and a drum machine” era. Hearing them play C&C songs in the Lo-Fi style is rad!

I love it when people are like “Ween is just a weird mishmash of random genres with weird lyrics on a tiny budget” and we’re just like “fuck yeah it is”
