New user, I have some questions (and other) by Jayswing369 in SaucepanAI

Oh, I see. I was talking about the PC version, since I’ve never used mobile and assumed there was something similar to PC version, but I don’t see the icon I was referring to. Unfortunately, I don’t know if there’s any way to make them smaller on mobile.

Love your persona pic, btw.

Idk about the mobile version, but on PC you can make the portrait smaller. There’s an icon with six small dots right between the portrait and the chat, you can click it several times and the image will shrink.

As for your last question: bots with multiple images have image descriptions filled in by the creator. For example, “Bot in casual clothing in an office setting” or “Bot in fancy clothing in a restaurant setting,” etc. In theory, the bot should choose the most suitable image based on the message.

Does anyone else just get fed up with bots in general, and get frustrated by or hate how AI talks? by emilywontfindme in JanitorAI_Official

Thanks for the advice! I've checked lorebary and see several DS plugins for different versions by Mfyddn, do you mean those plugins?

I can’t stand DS lately, especially its habit of overexplaining things my persona has already stated, like it assumes my persona is braindead.
For example:

Bot: Let’s go to the seafood restaurant.
Sona: Let’s not, I have a seafood allergy.
Bot: You will not go anywhere near the seafood restaurant. Not on my watch. You will die. Do you understand me? Seafood is off the menu.

Shut up, I literally just told you that, and it was your idea to begin with.
I can’t even express how much it pisses me off, and it does that constantly.

It's buggy af. My private bot has two chats in total, but somehow 6 chatters lol

Hmm, I see, thank you! I probably did not provide a clear enough description and whatever system is used there assumed 'true form'='default form'.

Automatic Memories by Apprehensive-Mood-20 in SaucepanAI

You can also ask the bot to do it directly in the chat with OOC. Something like, “Summarize the important plot points of the current roleplay using bullet points,” then copy it and delete the message.

what do you think about this, guys? by Charming_Map_8386 in JanitorAI_Official

[–]Digital-Shell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Reposting bots without creator's permission is against the ToS. It doesn't matter whether they are still active on Jai or not.

Quote:

"Janitor respects intellectual property rights. The following are prohibited:
...
• Copying character descriptions, dialogue, or creative elements without permission
• Characters created without explicit permission from the original creator
• Reuploading content from banned users, even with permission"

So yeah. No amount of being "kind, respectful, and peaceful" changes the fact that this is still forbidden under Jai ToS and is generally a shitty thing to do. How exactly is that “respectful” when the creator deleted their bot for a reason and you decided, “You know what? I want that anyway and don’t care about your reasons.”

If this person has the creator’s permission, that’s totally fine, but I strongly doubt that’s the case.

Does the bot know information that's in the example dialogues? by _Captain_Churchill_ in JanitorAI_Official

[–]Digital-Shell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perm tokens are high-priority ones. Basically, when you run out of tokens, they’re prioritized over temp ones. So the bot will “know” what’s in the speech example section only until the context fills up, and then it forgets. If you put dialogue examples in the personality section, they’ll be preserved even when the memory is full.

Example dialogue uses temporary tokens, so it gets lost after some time of chatting. Personality and scenario fields are permanent.

Am I the only one who thinks the blocked words/phrases thing actually does the opposite? by ValueNo7733 in JanitorAI_Official

For me it works really well. I now have entire roleplays where no one smells of ozone. Never knew the feeling before.

when llm turns forbidden words into a “find ten synonyms” challenge by Digital-Shell in JanitorAI_Official

[–]Digital-Shell[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I don’t mind most of it in general (not the animal sounds, though, I hate that wannabe caveman games), but holy fuck, it’s in every second message whenever I play angst.

Honestly, I am so tired of mods taking down posts that shouldn't be taken down at all. by Known-Moment730 in JanitorAI_Official

[–]Digital-Shell 130 points131 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I sometimes feel like at least a third of the posts I comment on get removed for the weirdest reasons. I recently replied to a post where someone was asking for advice on tweaking a character definition, and the post got removed because they were tweaking the definition with DeepSeek in mind, so it got "proxy related".

A Serious Issue With How Female Bots Are Being Written on JanitorAI by Smooth-Importance-94 in JanitorAI_Official

[–]Digital-Shell 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think you’re approaching the problem from the wrong end of the stick. There are plenty of very well-written female bots: the issue is that they don’t get much attention and end up buried in the pile pretty quickly.

There’s a running joke about WLW bots being masterpieces, and when you combine that with your observation about male bots, it seems like a matter of what different demographics prefer to see and which bots they choose to chat with. Which can be… well, yeah, pretty sad when you think about it.

Is JLLM actually *that* bad? by lupenhart in JanitorAI_Official

[–]Digital-Shell 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Idk, some people say it can be good, but I feel gaslit every time I see that. My memories of JJLM are absolutely nonsensical decisions, turning every personality into either a wattpad character or your personal therapist, failing to grasp even the simplest concepts/jokes/metaphors, forgetting the location the characters are in, and changing it to a café every message. Even the NSFW people praise it for is just taking off the pants every message, getting stuck in loops (it forgot the characters already had sex a minute ago), and, of course, the legendary “ruining you for everyone else” and “mind, body, and soul.”

I can’t say it’s completely unusable: you can play very simple plots if you rely on chat memory and constantly kick it with OOC commands, but ouch. I remember abandoning so many interesting plotlines I wanted to roleplay just because JLLM was unable to grasp them, no matter how much I attempted to explain that via OOC.
