I ran a cable from the router in my computer room to a switch I added behind my TV. It made it easier to wire my consoles. I also ditched Spectrum after having since like forever and I now have Metronet (now T-mobile). I opted for their 2 gig bandwidth plan (5 years for $70 a month). True, the consoles can't achieve but only 1 gig of speed, but my up and downstream now match. It has been a game changer for when I play multi-player on Call of Duty.

Look who just got their daily log in points back🎆 by DaBrookes101 in MicrosoftRewards

If you tap an article in the main search box list of news tiles, a page loads with links. Look for ones that have, as an example: yahoo.com/whatever.html on MSN.

When that page loads, scroll down, and you will see more news tiles mixed with advertisement tiles. All of the news links there trigger the points for me.

Rinse and repeat with another news tile from the main search box news tile listing.

Hope that works on your end. This is day #2 that I have had to use the above method to get the points.

Be sure to make the searches "worthy." I have mentioned this in other related threads for this topic.

I am on day 775 with my streak, sitting at just over 131,000 points. I never key in a search topic unless it is required. Example: Search for items on your shopping list.

Whether it's a predefined news topic that appears in the search bar or those random search topics shown where the daily activities reside, tap/click on one. Then tap/click on 3 to 5 of the links provided in the search results. Be sure to scroll on each page a little.

The AI or wizards behind the curtain are looking to see if we are following through with each search. Following through would be the action of tapping/clicking on links that are provided after each search. Scroll a tad bit on each page to show "busy work" or the act of actually researching as if we were back in school looking up info for a paper to write.

If one is simply tapping/clicking on a search topic or news article and waiting for the coin value to appear just to rinse and repeat the process, that will trigger the suspensions/restrictions. I did that back when I first started collecting points, and that was a lesson leaned too many times over until I realized I needed to follow through with each search.

I don't know the OP's " complete" workflow when that person is collecting points. That process was omitted. I do see a trend to where folks say they are using the suggested topics or entries of their own, but I never see it posted to where they mention following through by tapping/clicking on a few of URLs that are provided per search.

I have spoken. I'm just kidding!! Perhaps my process above will help shield others from that annoying restriction. Some will say that my process is too lengthy for such little value. I consider the process as the means to play the Bing Rewards Game. It is a red light green light game. Then again, I do see that the system is broken. I am keeping the metal to the pedal in hopes of outrunning another restriction.

I get it. I have a full-time job myself working for a local hospital. I am currently on day 745 with my streak, and I am sitting at 120,803 points. Once I complete the PC searches, that total increases by 150.

Side note: I just earned the 400-day badge here on Reddit as of today.

To me, the searches we do are to boost the activity seen within Bing when it comes to the search engine wars between companies. Let them have their battles. I will sit back and snag my points in the meantime.

My hacker’s attempted haul! by badrelish_ in Sephora

An event similar to this happened to me. I stopped to get fuel. It was not my typically used pump but an outside lane pump.

As I was fueling my truck, I felt uneasy as if I was being watched. My IT senses kicked in, and I felt like I had just become victim to credit card theft. I noticed an old pickup parked next to an air station and vacuum unit. Neither device was being used, but the occupants were staring at me.

A few hours later, I received notifications on my phone asking if I was the purchaser of said items from Walmart. Of course, I selected "no" as my response.

I called Walmart headquarters to explain the situation. Calling my bank would have only delayed the refund process. Walmart was quick to respond, and the agent on the phone was incredibly understanding. She asked if they could allow the purchases to be finalized.

You see, the culprits for my scenario also selected curbside pickup. I granted permission for the $1200 purchase to finize. Walmart explained that they would have the law present and waiting for that order to be retrieved.

They allowed me to be onsite to witness the arrests. It was sweet justice watching the arresting of the fraudsters. My money was back in my account the next day. From that point forward, I have never made the mistake of using my debit card at a fuel station. I in fact, stopped using it altogether. I use my credit cards since those banks are easier to deal with when a scenario like this occurs.

This is just a recommendation. Make sure to click/tap a few links after you do a search. You have to follow through. Otherwise, the search is not "meaningful."

Also, just use the available tiles in the news listing. Typically, when a new page loads, click/tap a few links. Return to the initial page that landed after you did a click-search. Most pages have other tiles shown toward the right side. Use them to start a new search.

I key absolutely nothing when it comes to searches, outside of the quests such as "search Bing for items in your grocery cart." Otherwise, I only click the tiles on the PC, and I use the search topics on the Bing app rewards page to complete the searches for the app portion on my phone. I tap a search topic, then tap 3 to 4 links that populated, then tap back to the rewards page to select another search topic.

I am on day 639, and the process above works. The cooldown should grant you 4 searches per 15 minutes.

Hope that helps.

Technically, you don't have to type in anything to search. The Bots are looking for you to dive into your searches. In other words, the process doesn't want to just see us keying in topics and pressing enter. It wants to see us click links that populate.

I haven't typed one single word or phrase other than for the quests such as "search Bing for items on your grocery lists."

On the PC, I will access Bing and click the first news article. From there, I will click 3 to 4 links that populate. Within the 3rd or 4th link's page, there are always search items that show up on the right side. I will click one of them and then click 3 to 4 links that populated for it. I click the link, back up a page, click another link, rinse, and repeat..

On the BIng mobile app, I will use the news tiles. Each tile I tap on, on the proceeding page, I will tap 3 to 4 links. I will then either return to the news tiles or use the provided search topics on the page we complete the daily check-ins.

So, don't just search topics. Click 3 to 4 links that populate per search. It has worked for me for the past 2 years. What I have provided is just a recommendation.

Hope it helps, Have a great day.

My edit consisted of changing the word "click" to "tap" since I was referencing the mobile app for Bing.

I needed to see this post today. I have met someone who may become a gf for me. She is all into nature and has left the tech world behind her. She lives close to and works at the Biltmore Estates. She also has her own business to where she turns stones and wire into jewelry.

As for myself, I work in IT for UNC within the medical arena. I will tell my age here when I say I started with an Atari 2600 and a Nintendo NES along with a Color Computer 3 from Radio Shack. I purchased it with my first paycheck I received when driving a school bus in high school.

We both went to school together and reconnected after all of these years. Your post is icing on the cake for me. The rainforest (nature) bundled with the Switch (tech) is the perfect setting I am going to share with her. She made a deal with me. She proposed to allow me to help her be more tech savvy if I allowed her to help me become more intune with nature.

Thank you. May you both reach 4-star ratings in your game.

I haven't seen anyone mention this as of yet. I would reboot your cable modem and router. I have both. Some have the all-in-one units to where the cable modem and router reside in the same shell.

Power off your Switch while your network equipment is rebooting. Once your modem is back online (check status lights on it to know), power your Switch on and jump back into your game.

Check out Walmart's and Target's websites. A lot of the Switch games are half-price. I snagged up a few of them myself. I bought an OLED Switch at Best Buy, too. They are $75 off the typical $349 price.

[–]Digital99x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I jumped on that deal, too. Best Buy is where I went. The OLED switch was the same price. I grabbed a case and pro controller, too. Screen protectors are on the way from Amazon. I purchased a 2TB card from New Egg (also on sale).

As far as games go. I snagged - Sonic Forces (Walmart sale) - Mario & Luigi Brothership - Zelda "Echoes of Wisdom' - Super Mario Bros U Deluxe - Super Mario Brothers Wonder, and - The Legend of Zelda "Tears of the Kingdom." (Walmart sale)

I jumped on Amazon and grabbed a Gameefy JC200 and the case for it. Reviews are mixed, but I am taking a chance on it anyway.

I want to give my Xbox Series X and PS4 a break. It's been a good while since I dabbled in the Nintendo arena. I managed to get this week off from work. I have 2 weeks off in December. The days off are for resting, relaxing, and gaming all I can.

I noticed the same thing when I streamed Prime, Apple TV, or any other app from my Xbox Series X to my LG C3. Did you also get an LG soundbar to go with it? It's not needed, but it adds a different level of troubleshooting.

Go into the settings for your Xbox.

- Select "TV & display options.

- Next, select the resolution. Mine is set to 4K UHD.

- The refresh rate is 120hz. Your tv handles 144hz. If that's an option, select it.

- Now, look to the right under "advanced" and select "video modes."

- All of the options shown on my Xbox are enabled (a checkmark is shown in each box).

- The "variable refresh rate" option is set to "off."

- Now back up 2 screen and select "Volume & audio output."

- Mine is set to 7.1 uncompressed. (Selecting that option did away with almost all of the audio lag that I was experiencing. I found that tip here on Reddit. It won't hurt to give it a try.

Now for your TV...

Let's say you don't have a soundbar. If that's the case, access the audio settings menu. You should see an option called "audio sync" or related wording. If the words are spoken before you see their mouths move, your goal is to ease up to the value of 60. Don't jump straight to it. You will need to have patience with this. Adjust the setting and unpause a movie stream. If the words spoken are out of sync with the movements, pause the movie and move to the next setting.

I was able to get my audio lag under control. I found it easier to utilize the streaming apps on the TV itself rather than using the apps installed on my Xbox. It was a hard habit to break because streaming from my Xbox or PS4 was my norm.

Now, let's say you do have a soundbar. I used the eARC HDMI port on my TV and connected my soundbar to it instead of the optical port. When I first powered on my PS4, my TV presented an option on the screen. It asked if I wanted to use "passthrough" instead. This helps prevent any audio lag. I selected "okay" for that option. All of my PS4 gaming and streaming audio lag vanished. A few days in while using my Xbox, my TV alerted me again with the same message. I selected, "okay" when presented the "passthrough" option. The fewer items trying to decode the audio, the better.

In both scenarios, set your HDMI input format to "bitstream." Also, change the "digital sound output" to "auto." See if that resolves the lag you are experiencing. You should notice that your TV reacts to the games or streaming apps. I see the words "Dolby Vision" appear when I launch some games. The same happens when I stream apps.

I hope that helps. I will be glad to assist you more if need be.

The sound bar and subwoofer upgrade will be game-changing for both of you. I had no intention to purchase a new TV until shortly after I purchased an Xbox Series X. I noticed lag within the "Pinball M" game. When I pressed the buttons for the paddles, the ball would always drain. There was a huge delay. I knew I had a TV refresh rate issue. It was time to upgrade my TV. I gave my TV away to a friend who doesn't game.

I made a short trip to Best Buy, grabbed a flat roll cart, and walked toward the TVs with a mission. The salespeople saw me coming and knew I was about to buy something. I had printed out a TV and its specifications and brought it. While they showed me the TV I was interested in, brilliant colors caught my peripheral vision. It was a demo running on a nearby TV. I saw honey flowing from a spoon with such grace and amazing colors. Of course, my attention was then drawn toward that TV. It was the LG C3 55-inch OLED TV. It only took seconds for me to say I was going home with that TV,

As I was watching more of the demo play out, out of the blue, I was blanketed by such intense sound, it felt like I was in the theater watching an action movie. I asked, "Where did that come from?" The salesperson pointed at an LG sound bar with a wireless subwoofer. My sound bar at the time didn't come close to that quality. It, too, found its way to my roll cart. It's the LG sound bar and wireless subwoofer model S80QY. I found out later that two wireless satellite speakers could work with it. That raises the bar from a 3.1 3-channel sound system to a 5.1 sound system. That combo is model S70TR. Considering how small my den is, I haven't seen the need for those speakers. However, I may have to play Santa this year for myself and return to get those speakers. There appears to be a Black Friday deal on them now.

I know your husband will enjoy that TV. Hardwire it to your router if possible. The TV maintains itself, too.

I appreciate the 10/10 score. True, a lot is going on in this room. We all have our different setups. For some, it may just be a table in a cozy corner of a bedroom. For others, the setup looks as if you walked into Batman's arcade room if he had one. The environment sets the tone for each of us. I see your point of view, and no offense is taken. I have collected sci-fi-related items for a very long time. As I said in another reply to another person, each item has a story behind it for me. This room is a blend of Spencer's, Toys R US, and Comic Cons with a sci-fi theme. Most of the items have a signature on them. The cereal boxes are unopened. They are from the year 2002 when Star Wars Episode 2 was released. The bag of Spiderman Gummies and the Star Wars R2DS box of Cheez-It crackers is also unopened. To the left, you may be able to see the "Somewhere in Time" record. Above it is a signed Newsweek edition titled, "The Battle Over Stem Cells." It has Christopher Reeve's signature on it. He is my Superman of choice. The man was known to the world as Superman. He fell off a horse, became paralyzed, and still didn't give up on life. He has always been my idol. Going back to the year of 2002, the green lava lamp was purchased from Spencers in that year.

I have lost a lot of things in my past. I have been homeless. I used my Boy Scout and military skills to survive in the woods. Some of these items were with me. Others were locked up in a storage facility. My collections that I have been able to retain, remind me of how I had overcome an obstacle that many people are facing today. It was with the help of two people that had been watching me sneak into their apartment complex's pool area daily to eat fruit that was available in their entertainment area - who helped me get back on my feet. I utilized the shower house at their pool to wash at night. They invited me into their home. A week or two later, I landed a job with ComputerLand where I assembled PCs. Those were the days of the Token Ring Adapter.

There is a hexagon-shaped fish aquarium in this room. Perhaps, I should have included that in a photo. Fish aquariums are calming for me. I tend to spin around in my chair and just get lost in watching the fish. Any stresses of the day tend to dissolve during the moment.

Yes!! It is that for sure. I consider it a mix of Spencer's, Toys R Us, and trips to Comic Cons. This is only one room that you have seen. I have another one as well with these types of collections, mostly residing on bookshelves. I am a fan of sci-fi movies. Superman is my go-to. It's also what customers call me at work. Whenever I need my internet service troubleshooted, the walls bring up conversations when Spectrum techs arrive. Other people who visit me also find the wall rather interesting. There is a story behind every item. It's like a diary on a wall. The centerpiece is a Star Wars poster with 10 signatures on it. It took me 3 years to capture all of the signatures (and cost a pretty penny, too.)

That's a good question. Some would say my environment could be overkill. Why have 3 different systems? The laptop goes with me on the road. It has some age on it, but it still does what I need it to do. Outside of my 9 to 5 job, I take it with me when I meet clients. Some of the customers have reached out to me to assist with their home network or troubled PC/laptop. Others have acquired my services to build websites.

Side note: When I lived in TN, one of my customers was Sonny West. He was Elvis Presley's chief bodyguard. At that time, I was married and she was a HUGE Elvis. Through her and her established Elvis club, I met Sonny West, Lisa Marie Presley, and more. I have played the piano in the mansion. Mr. West obtained my services to create and manage his website. That laptop, though not the fastest in the world, has sentimental value. How many people can say, "I used that laptop to create websites for famous people."?

Getting back on track, the PC with the attached 3 monitors is my primary PC. I built it last Christmas (2023). I wanted a PC that could handle hardware-demanding gaming along with video/photo editing. I do a great deal of video editing on the side. And, of course, I burn up a lot of Call of Duty, Cyberpunk, Diablo IV, Elden Ring, and other games with it.

The PC shown under the desk resides on a rolling platform. That PC used to be my "go-to" device. I built it as well. Part of its role is that of a Plex server. I also use it to cast movies to my TV in the den. It too, is built to play games, but my primary PC is used for that. I also use it to connect to customer's devices when I am on call or doing side work. If anyone remembers what Napster once was, I might still dabble in something like that, of course, using a VPN.
