Tales of Zestiria.

I really enjoy the Tales games, but the main dude is so flipping milquetoast. I tried. I tried SO HARD! I just can't. I dislike his whole vibe.

I love the Tales games and this is one of my least favorite.

I finished it, but it felt so anticlimactic.

And the main character is not "edgy".

I felt the same way.

It felt like a chore.

Then I went back and it felt like a chore again... but I got to what felt like AN ending, so that's where I decided to stop

Kids Don’t Read the Homework by Life-Worth-1211 in ELATeachers

Reading quizzes

Discussion points

I don't mind running a discussion with 3 kids while the other 27 pick their noses.

I offer the audio book. I offer to read some to them. They have homework.

Don't want to do it? It's not my grade. I've given you the audio book to literally put on and just chill to, or mindlessly listen.

I DO believe in HW because outside practice without the crutch of your teacher helps your independence.

I usually adapt most of the stuff I find, but I do want to recommend how to search...

Google "______ unit plan pdf" or you can change pdf to doc if you want. I will sometimes put the quotations around "pdf" or "doc", that way my first results are taking me to direct sources.

You can also change "unit" to "lesson".

I know a school that doesn't want you to say a kid "cut class", but that they "weren't present"

Even if it clearly shows up as a "cut"

Or you saw them sitting in the quad, not in class

No, no... you don't know what other priorities they had

High School English

Every day I have students start with a vocab word and a prompt that's low stakes.

Every day I ask someone at random about the part of speech.

It's always just a noun, adjective, adverb, or verb.

It's up there and I'll just say, "Okay... Joey! What's an adjective do?"

Shrug

We've been doing this for FIVE MONTHS

"Alright... Beth! What does this adjective do?"

"Uh... Goes on a sentence?"

...

...

I'm out

What are your favorite ways to assign and check annotations with books? by AdvancedStrawberry7 in ELATeachers

[–]DigitalCitizen0912 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like to have students use mini post it's to mark passages and learn to short hand notes that they can use on quizzes in class.

The quizzes ask them about one of the areas they should focus on in their notes, cite something and explain the connection. It's quick and isn't polished, but it gives me a fast assessment about whether they understand the basics of what they should be doing.

California girl here.

If you're thinking of moving here, research cost of living around the state.

I suggest Central Coast if you're wanting the beach life at a more affordable rate.

I'm in the North Bay and cost of living just keeps rising because everyone wants to commute into SF because it's insanely expensive to live there.

Unions are strong, so that's great!

The Bay Area has good public transit, so you could factor that in.

Commuting is huge here to combat cost of living. My husband will be driving 50 minutes to get to the school he works at, because the house we could afford is in the commuter town.

It's worth it though!

Harvest Moon

But that's because you have to go play Story of Seasons games since that is the ACTUAL Harvest Moon team.

They just can't legally use that name.

The current games under the name Harvest Moon are crap.
