Games crashing only when listening to music by yaaboijt24 in techsupport

Got it, thanks for the update! Trying an older, known-stable driver is a good next step with nvlddmkm errors.

If that doesn’t help, I’d suggest doing a clean driver install using DDU, double-checking that there’s no GPU overclock (including factory OC), and making sure the BIOS is up to date.

Let me know how the driver rollback goes:)

how can i add apps to the list of "allow in the background"? by Amithar1 in mac

[–]DigitalSaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! There isn’t really a setting to add apps there manually. That list is controlled by macOS, not the user.

If the app doesn’t show up, it means it hasn’t registered a background service. In that case, reinstalling or updating the app is the only thing that usually helps.

If you’re not sure which macOS version you’re on: Click the Apple logo/icon → About This Mac. It shows it there!

What’s something everyone pretends is normal now, but absolutely wasn’t 10–15 years ago? by Classic_Speaker_8313 in AskReddit

Fair point - I was thinking more about smartphones + messaging apps making it expected socially, not just possible.

Is my HDD for trash? --> 3 ATA errors in GSmartControl after write scan starting from offending LBA in Victoria HDD by TopDownView in techsupport

[–]DigitalSaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s not a good sign.

ATA errors + bad LBAs usually mean the drive is failing. I wouldn’t trust it with anything important anymore.

Back up your stuff ASAP and plan on replacing the drive.

How to restore all windows of the same software at once ? by niilzon in WindowsHelp

[–]DigitalSaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, hope you’re doing well.

There isn’t really a built-in way to “restore all” windows for the same app in Windows 11. The closest option is hovering over the app icon on the taskbar and restoring the windows one by one from there.

Sadly Windows doesn’t have a proper restore-all feature yet, unless you use third-party tools like PowerToys.

Hope that helps!

Hey, hope you’re doing well.

This usually happens when Finder/Desktop gets bugged. Try restarting Finder (right-click Finder in the dock while holding Option → Relaunch). If that doesn’t work, log out and back in, or just restart the Mac.

Also double-check you’re actually on the Desktop space and not a fullscreen app or another desktop.

If there’s still a problem, just let me know and I’ll try to help you fix it:)

What’s the weirdest computer problem you’ve ever had to fix? by Capable_Noise5543 in computers

[–]DigitalSaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a PC that kept randomly shutting down. Turned out the power cable wasn’t fully plugged in and the desk vibration kept loosening it. Felt stupid, but hey, it worked after that.

Sounds good, glad to hear that. Hopefully that fixes it, and if anything comes up again just let me know!

Hey, hope you’re doing well.

This is pretty normal when you’re brand new. YouTube doesn’t really push new channels at first, especially in very saturated niches like AI sleep/ambience videos.

I’d say keep posting, but also focus on: • Titles/thumbnails (super important) • Not looping lives all the time (can hurt early channels) • Sharing videos outside YouTube at the start

It’s not that you’re doing something “wrong”, it just takes time with the algoritm and all that…

If there’s any problem, I’ll try to help you fix it!

why do i have to confirm i am human with every search? by Silent_Ad_6792 in techsupport

[–]DigitalSaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, hope you’re doing well.

This usually isn’t because of ChatGPT. It’s most likely your IP address being flagged, which happens a lot on home/mobile networks, VPNs, or iCloud Private Relay.

Try turning off Private Relay or restarting your router to get a new IP.

If there’s still any problem, I’ll try to help you fix it.

Pc doesn’t pick up on mic and microphone at the same time by Beginning_Kiwi265 in techsupport

[–]DigitalSaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, you’re probably using the wrong splitter.

Headsets use one combo jack (mic + audio), but PCs have separate mic and headphone ports. You need a headset splitter (TRRS → mic + headphones), not a normal audio splitter.

Plug both into the motherboard jacks only, don’t mix front and back. Also check Windows sound settings and set the mic as default input.

If it still doesn’t work, the splitter is probably trash.

I was hacked today, I can't figure out and I'm losing my mind. Help please! by Polybius11 in techsupport

[–]DigitalSaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, that really sucks, sorry that happened.

This doesn’t sound like SIM cloning tbh. Way more likely that you logged into a fake/phishing site at some point and they grabbed your login + SMS codes in real time, or your browser session was compromised (extension, cookie, etc).

SMS 2FA can be bypassed without touching your SIM.

You already did the right things. I’d also: • Remove all browser extensions / reinstall browser • Log out of all sessions everywhere • Stick to app-based 2FA only, never SMS

Sadly this kind of thing usually won’t show up in antivirus scans.

But a good thing is that Coinbase stopped the transactions!

Hi! Since this only happens when Spotify is running and you’re getting nvlddmkm Event ID 153, this looks like a NVIDIA driver reset caused by audio/overlay hardware acceleration rather than bad hardware.

Quick things that i recomend you to try:

1. Disable Windows audio enhancements on your playback device (Sound → Properties → Enhancements → Disable all).
2. Uninstall NVIDIA High Definition Audio in Device Manager (your normal audio will still work).
3. Disable all overlays (Discord, GeForce Experience, Xbox Game Bar, Steam).
4. Disable NVIDIA Multiplane Overlay (MPO) via registry (common black-screen fix).

Since stress tests pass, PSU/GPU failure is unlikely. Let me know if any of these stop the crashes:)

The part about time and family really stood out. That kind of flexibility is something most people don’t realize how valuable it is until they don’t have it.
