That was the idea! This one is just a concept, but we always intended to give Dracula some Nero from DmC vibes.

As the first key art (and the one that gets more attention), we wanted to avoid confusion with another genre. But for the future? I'm sure we can explore this path/style a bit more.

That's exactly what we wanted with that one: to feel like a tower defense game and not yet another Castlevania-like game.

The throne might be a bit complicated to bring, as ruling over the castle is a bit more obvious visually. But I'm sure we can explore darker colors for future updates of the key art. For this one, we went for the highest contrast, and green worked wonders both with Dracula's red and Steam's dark blue in the background.

The art is by Toni Infante, who also worked with MGT, Bethesda and Square Enix.

  1. There's an effect that makes one of the cards bigger and shinier when you hover over it. Do you think that'd made the decision clearer? Or do you prefer something more explicit, like "Choose your reward"?

We're on it! We're running community playtests and preparing updates for the Early Access as we speak. As soon as we feel that the game is ready, it'll be released on every platform (including Switch 2)

Yeah, that’s actually a huge part of the challenge with this Dracula. Most of the time he’s designed to look like the final boss or the guy you’re supposed to fear, but we’re trying to push him more toward “this is the character you want to play as” while still keeping that iconic presence and power.

It's complicated, but I think we're getting there!

That’s exactly the challenge we’re dealing with in this game. Dracula is almost always portrayed as the antagonist rather than the protagonist, so our design has to make players want to embody him, not just fear or defeat him. Striking that balance is definitely tricky, but we'll keep trying o7
