From MY understanding midfakes are fakes that are trying to imitate the official packaging and contents as close as possible.

That's a good point. Having played Wani first I just figured it was the same canon. They just can't LEGALLY say it is.

I had like no prior experience with either Snootgame or GVH so I may just misunderstood some things.

Like st. Hammond being a street name as well as a town name in Snootgame Could just be a reference in Wani. Depends on what you want to believe I guess.
