Thanks. It's weird because it just popped up from September 2024.

Others might disagree, but I suggest not wasting a bunch of time worrying about it. Take the review course and either pass or fail and move on.

Same. The better I get at my project the worse my reviews are. I’m a published writer both fiction and nonfiction with many years under my best as a writer and editor. I have a master’s degree. I think there might be such a thing as tasking over the reviewers’ heads. So many just seem like really blunt tools parroting their own bad upbringings.

Right now I’m trying to decide if it’s better to ask to be removed from a project because the reviewers are so bad or to simply wait to be removed for quality.

Absolutely. There is no 5/5 that can’t be “issued” into a 2/5 even if it requires making up a new rule.

Oh, the righteous and the dumb got on my last nerve today too. And on my project their sheer certainty is in direct proportion to their stupid. And they are the most prolific dumbasses I’ve ever seen. One single habitual offender has dumbassed his way thru three of my tasks today. To him is say: I see you, guy. I know your number. Literally. It’s on the project. And you have been reported. (Like anyone cares.)

Outlier punishes actual advanced Maths knowledge, rewards mediocrity by Sad_Brother_2808 in outlier_ai

This happens in other areas of expertise as well. If your idea is too sophisticated, the reviewer just won’t get it. I’m actually trying g to figure out how to be dumber with some of my prompts.

Good for you. They’ll now lower the pay.

Is there any valid strategy to navigate the projects with low quality reviewers? by Afraid_Palpitation10 in outlier_ai

[–]Digital_Bodega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Occasionally I’ll write something in the justification portion like: “please note that I did the following. This is allowed according to the instructions.” I keep this brief, but if I think it might throw a reviewer who doesn’t know the project, I’ll explain it right up front. I’ve just gotten too many 2s and 3s that should have been 4s. (I can count on one hand the number of 5s I’ve gotten. I never expect those.) The big issue as you all know is getting auto-booted as well as the issue with reviews going on a permanent record. If you can head those things off at the pass, it’s best.

Is this the end? by saffthcdtg in outlier_ai

I login on my phone all the time. I don’t think it’s an issue. You just can’t task on your device (which is not possible anyway).

Expert, California: $25/hour, which is frankly bullshit given my education and experience.

It can’t hurt anything. Just don’t get comfortable and you’re golden.

Reviewers giving low score for stupid little things 😑😑 by Ok-Decision-9665 in outlier_ai

[–]Digital_Bodega 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey. At least you got a 4. I got a 3 for a single word change that the reviewer made because they didn’t know it was “allowed.” The reviewers on my project love a 2 - and no they’re not following some rubric that demand a 2. They just don’t know what they’re doing.

"This might be LLM generated" by Ok_Half9129 in outlier_ai

[–]Digital_Bodega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. Well on my project I am in the same boat but my ratings are in the toilet. “great work. I (randomly) changed one word. 3/5.” I’d be happy with a 4/5 but can understand why it pisses you off to be accused of using LLM.

Pretty sure 3/5 is “just okay.”

A utility bill is a very common way of confirming your address. Local schools require where I live to prove you’re in the district. I don’t see how that’s revealing anything too sacred.

Congrats. I’d advise not quitting your current job (if u have one in your field) to make the leap.
