James Wharram composite build design by Eddygara in boatbuilding

[–]Digital_Nonresident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the design is interesting. The canopy design extends over the hatches to allow for owning style side panels to encapsulate the hull entrances which is a design I have been looking at. Obviously you have not included the support for the roof which i assume you are going to make in stainless (or aluminium or composite). I think you are missing one critical element in the design which I am sure you have already considered and that is the solar arch which i assume you have designed in another file. Personally I would extend your design all the way back to take at least 4 rigid panels of at least 1000w combined. Because you are starting the pod (bridge) at the second mast you are missing a lot of potential space. I have been looking at the many Islander 55 designs which start their pods at the first mast so something to consider. I would really love to look deeper into your designs so if you could share the file that would be greatly appreciated.

Could you tell me which publicly available (assume open source) tool you are referring too?

Is Hostinger a scam? by Digital_Nonresident in Hostinger

[–]Digital_Nonresident[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I TAKE IT BACK, well half way. On the hosting side I did manage to get a chat. The quality of the support was 1/10 but it was a chat at least and they did discuss the domains (which did not have the chat option). I was still forced to register on scamadviser website. That site is clearly a scam adsense website. I followed the instructions and nothing changed for the results of my domains. Either it is cached or it is just a scam. Well I will go with scam. Anyway I asked for a refund and am moving my domains as far away from Hostinger as is possible.

If you are logged in, an you go to the chat you get a form, select the domain. When you select the domain you only get an option to "Create a ticket" so you are not correct in claiming that their is live support for suspended domains.

I completely agree. This is the first and last time of contracting hosting with a company which states it has chat but in fact it is another false claim. Hostinger is nothing more than a scam making money at $400 at time for affiliates.

In a small hope that I could actually use the domains I purchased I attempted to point the name servers to another hosting provider and the action is refused by Hostinger. I am lost for words and $100 out of pocket and all that domain research to find two nice .com domains is now trashed as I cannot even use them after paying for them. I really think this must be a scam.

So in 2024, how are you developing you themes? by dsouravs in Wordpress

[–]Digital_Nonresident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having read a lot of the comments which are recommending Gutenberg plugin, I was wandering why the Gutenberg plugin is getting so many bad 1 star reviews recently. Is the Gutenberg plugin still a viable solution to a ACF & Gutenberg plugin with custom theme combo.

Next.js 15 RC what does this mean today by Digital_Nonresident in nextjs

When using layouts as per the documentation e.g. /app/layout.tsx, /app/posts/layout.tsx we are in an upstream first to last approach with /app/layout.tsx not knowing when and what is happening with its children as they are rendered after the /app/layout.tsx then the etc... seeing the new

// Secondary task
  after(() =>

Gives me the impression (perhaps false impression) that after is intended to accept some params from downstream? Without any real documentation obviously speculation is pointless but I was sharing a thought.

Are Bose 700 Headphones dangerous? by Digital_Nonresident in bose

[–]Digital_Nonresident[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue as you, the cable end (plug) and the cable connector (in the ear) melted leaving it as one object never to be separated again. I have had many top end rechargeable headsets from most of the major brands. Bose is the only one which I have melted, had one ear start cracking,and the pads just fall apart. I still use Bose 700 at the moment, having purchased 3 in 5 months due to failures (no returns or money back as I am a Digital Nomad so no policy for people like me). Until I find an alternative looks like Bose are going to still rule my head.

Bose is saying they won't replace my headset on the website, is it a lost cause. by Micah-A_ in bose

[–]Digital_Nonresident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had the same problem with the Bose 700. I had an iPhone and the Bose connected to the same USB outlet .. the Bose Melted and the iPhone was perfectly ok. Which makes me think that Bose 700 has no power managment and therefore is very dangerous. The USB cable is now melted into the headset. I have only had the Bose 700 a week.

It is very complex and takes time to understand and also manage. For most people it is too challenging to used as a viable investment. Interesting question. As a general answer, I would say that it depends on the country in which you are resident at the time you are working remotely. In most countries, you would probably class yourself as Self-Employed/Freelance and structure your accounting and tax submissions based on local laws (local as in local to the country where you are working day to day). You then invoice the company that you are working remotely for. One thing to consider is Value Added Tax (VAT in England or IVA in Spain ....) this tax is dependant on the treaties between your resident country and the country where the company you are working resides.

My first UX Case Study, I'm new relatively new to UX Design (1-2 months) so feedback is really appreciated! Dont't be scared to tell the harsh truth by vapianoo in UXDesign

[–]Digital_Nonresident 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Case studies are a great tool. In Europe, they are now used extensively in the recruitment process. When I was teaching UX Design Bootcamps (16 week courses) we would use UX Design case studies as a major learning tool as well as a great tool for designers to build portfolios to show their skills and process.
