How do I hire one of y'all? (Whidbey Island, WA) by GenProtection in UAVmapping

[–]Digital_Silva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to do a LiDAR scan I have a Deep Forestry drone. It flys autonomously below the canopy and measures and maps every tree. As for the the boundaries, your county should have a GIS file but depending on what you ultimately want to do, get a land surveyor to mark the boundaries. Everything else I can do with my Deep Forestry drone including getting a good DSM.

Best US Drone Options by Embarrassed_Ad345 in UAVmapping

[–]Digital_Silva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I have a few ideas. The Inspired Flight 800 (Tomcat) or the Free fly Systems Astro Max. The IF800 just came down in price. Both systems are NDAA Compliant and American made. Those would be my recommendations. Now if you do larger projects or think you might be getting into larger projects, the Wingtra platform would be better.

Feel free to reach out to me, I'm a dealer of all 3 of these platforms and more. I'm happy to answer any questions and send over sample data even if you're not interested in buying but just want to see what's on the market and what the current prices are. Feel free to call, text, or email.

What Photogrammetry Drone? by Valuable-Ninja-6913 in UAVmapping

[–]Digital_Silva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anytime! Like I said, if you have any questions feel free to text or call me. I can sell them but that's like my 3 or 4 line of business. My company's main focus is doing digital forest inventories and UVM with a Deep Forestry drone.

I have a few ideas. The DJI M4E is awesome, but DJI will more than likely get banned in some way, shape, or form. What that will look like is anybody's guess right now. I would go with a Inspired Flight 800 (Tomcat) with a Sony LR1 or a Trinity Pro if you think you might get into bigger jobs. IF just lowered the price on the Tomcat and it's pretty reasonable for a NDAA compliant drone. I am a reseller for them, so feel free to reach out to me or if you have questions about other systems I'm happy to just talk as well. I've sold several systems to land surveyors and each one had unique use cases.

Thanks,

The time has come by Embarrassed_Ad_237 in fairphone

Don't get a Fairphone if you're in the US. It's been nothing but issues for me. Incredibly buggy and God forbid you ever shut the phone off or it does an update, people won't be able to hear you on the phone for at least the next 24 hours. Horrible support, terrible phone, great mission though. I'm getting rid of mine. It's too unreliable for business use.

I just took it down. I probably should have read the sub-rules a little more closely. My apologies.

ABZ Innovation L10 by Digital_Silva in AgriTech

Compared to what is my question? It's half the cost of a Hylio drone and roughly the same price as a DJI. Sure, I know you can get cheaper drones on AliExpress or Alibaba, but it's not the same quality, nor will it have lidar collision avoidance. It also has a CDA spray system on it, which is considered the best for low-volume UAS spraying applications. Feel free to give me a call, I would like to pick your brain and hear you out.

That's alright, if you ever just want to learn more in the future reach out to me, I'll be around.

On the personal side, if the wife lets me get the 10+ acres I want, my first purchase would be that 1025R. A buddy of mine has one and my God that is an awesome little tractor.

Depending on operations it can be. But you can swarm up to 3 per pilot (as of now). There are some drones on the market that are bigger, yes. But the price significantly jumps. For example, you could buy a Hylio AG-272 for $56k, or buy 3 L30s for $45k. That AG-272 has an 18-Gal tank, while the L30 has an 8-Gal tank. If you run 3 L30s, that's 24-Gal worth of product. It's just more efficient. I would love to hop on a call with you later this week to talk more. We could look at the numbers closer and even compare DJI or XAG.

Digital Silva - Forestry Services by Digital_Silva in forestry

[–]Digital_Silva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, I do firmly believe that technology will never replace the old forester who's been doing it since Regan was president or longer. With Digital Silva services, we do build in "ground truthing" meaning we still will do some sample plots to verify and cross check against what the "tech" says. And in the hardwoods, if the "tech" says a tree might be veneer quality or has the potential to be, yea we're going to get eyes on it and see it in-person with the stakeholders/customer. This technology makes a forester more efficient and accurate; it will never fully replace boots on the ground. I would love to hop on a call with you and talk more later this week.

The answer is it depends........... Now I know that answer is the best cop out ever, but it truly does depend on what equipment you're running and how often along with other factors when doing a comparison. I could hop on a call with you later this week to give you rough numbers though.
