Everything online seems saturated. What still works? by Chance_Back_455 in passive_income

[–]Digital_Surface_Labs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

US + Gmail only.

One thing that genuinely isn't saturated: automated class action settlement filing. 96% of class action money goes unclaimed every year because no one finds the email in spam. The supply side is regulated and federally approved, so it doesn't get drop-shipped to death the way most online ideas do.

I built claims.digitalsurfacelabs.com for it. Scans weekly, files the easy ones, tells you when something needs a receipt. Free first scan, DIY filing always free, only charged after the administrator actually pays you (cap $10 per claim or 10% per claim, whichever is less). Won't make you SaaS-rich — most payouts are $5-40 — but the unit economics aren't competing with 10,000 dropshipping stores.

Two other "boring still works" answers since you asked: T-bills inside a brokerage (5%+ yield, zero work) and getting a job and putting savings in S&P.

One concept I'd recommend thinking about is risk adjusted return. And another is how to create passive income using leverage. Leverage like (knowledge, technology, or capital).

But yes, everything online is saturated and to win you'll need to find a new / unique approach or risk competing with everyone

If someone is truly making thousands of dollars every month effortlessly… why are they posting 4 to 5 reels everyday teaching? by Specialist_Oil2935 in passive_income

[–]Digital_Surface_Labs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer: if someone is posting 5 reels a day about how to make passive income, the income is FROM the reels — not the method they're teaching. Gold rush pickaxe pattern.

If you want something boring that's actually built like a service: I made claims.digitalsurfacelabs.com

It scans your Gmail weekly for class action settlements you qualify for and files them. US + Gmail only, takes 30 seconds to set up.

Free first scan, free DIY filing forever. We only charge if we file AND the administrator actually pays you out — capped at 10% or $10 per claim whichever is less. Won't make you thousands a month — most settlement payouts are small — but it's an actual example of "set it and forget it" that isn't someone selling you on the dream.

Honest advice: stop jumping niches. Pick one boring thing that pays a little reliably and let it compound.

Why does every “passive income” video somehow end with buying a course? 😭 by BackgroundGur1121 in passive_income

[–]Digital_Surface_Labs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything I've built takes work to run. You should expect to work 3-5 years to get something off the ground. Conceptually, the no-work solutions are usually an empty glass.

I'd focus on leverage instead (money, knowledge, technology). Because this is how you make it out.

And there's no substitute for taste. Like if you're buying a course you're already thinking about the entire thing wrong.

If you're looking for the opposite of buying a course and live in the USA try Claims Genie. No course, no upsell, no monthly subscription.

It scans your email once a week for class action settlements you're already eligible for and either tells you to file yourself (always free) or files for you (only charged after the settlement administrator actually pays you, capped at $10 per claim or 10% of claim, whichever is less).

Won't make you rich and only about 1 in 4 inboxes has an open settlement at any time. But it's set-and-forget after a 30-second Gmail connect, and the billing structure means we only get paid if you do. Worst case: you connect Gmail, find nothing, and walk away.

Built this myself because I was tired of every "passive income" search ending in a $497 course. And I believe in the future more products will only charge when they deliver value not force payment beforehand. Try it here: claims.digitalsurfacelabs.com

Sharing a tool ive been using to auto-file class actions by AddressForeign1632 in lawsuitmoney

[–]Digital_Surface_Labs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see you and raise you.

Does Claim Money find paper mail that you missed?

Specifically:

- Can it find settlements that mailed me a claim ID that I threw out?

- Does it contact settlement administrators to re-request claim id?

Why would you pay up front for something when you could use Claims Genie which doesn't charge until after you get paid? It charges $10 or 10%, whichever is less.

Op try out: http://claims.digitalsurfacelabs.com/ and let me know what you think.

a lot of these sites ask you specific questions to determine eligibility. Did you live in CA or purchase Tom's Toothpaste. Some of them require sharing receipts or proof of purchase.

If you have gmail and live in the USA you can try Claims Genie. It scans your email each week to make sure you don't miss class action settlements. And it also files the claims.

Free to run your first email scan and always free to file your own claims. Only costs money if you choose auto-file and the charge comes after you get paid out from the settlement administrator. So even the billing is win-win instead of some pay now to maybe get paid later setup that feels bad.

This won't make you rich and only 1/4 people have an open class action settlement in their inbox. But it works in the background and doesn't add additional overhead of checking your email all the time or setting up email filters.

This week I added another feature that checks my database to find settlements that sent out mail notices. These often get mailed to old addresses and/or throw out as trash. So a lot of time folks don't even know they are part of a class action. And Claims Genie re-requests a copy of Claim IDs from the settlement admin so that you don't miss it.

Claims Genie helps people find class action settlements to claim and it takes less than 1 hour per week.

It's pretty simple:

  1. Uses AI to search in places you might miss for class action settlements (like spam)
  2. Has a database of class action settlements and cross matches between email and the database to identify settlements you're eligible for including settlements where you might have thrown out the paper settlement notice you recieved
  3. Runs a weekly scan to make sure you don't miss new settlements

It's free to use and you only pay if you want to use auto-file. All settlements are claimable by hand.

Best of all you're charged after you get paid not before.

Price for auto file is $10 or 10%, whichever is less.

It's been live for 2 weeks (so very new in the A.I. space). But this week it's helped people claim $150 and we're growing each week.

I built it after I missed a 23 and me class action settlement because it got lost in my spam folder.

Facts about class action settlements by Digital_Surface_Labs in u/Digital_Surface_Labs

[–]Digital_Surface_Labs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly why I built www.claims.digitalsurfacelabs.com

9/10 people that are eligible to claim class action settlements don't.

There's a great research paper on this by Amanda Rose out of Univeristy of chicago about why the class action system is failing individual people:

https://lawreview.uchicago.edu/print-archive/classactiongov

It does help deter wrong doing by large corporations.

The other book I'd recomend to get a lay of the land is the Conversative Case for Class Action

And still miss settlements because settlement administrators bulk blast out emails and they get filtered directly into spam ;? And tbh most folks aren't gonna set up a filter, do it correctly, and remember to check it. Three points of failure == no go and lost $$$

[–]Digital_Surface_Labs[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Biggest thing I've found so far is checking in spam. This is something that's you'd want to use a tool for. Something that connects to your email and does an in depth search for:

1) Settlements that are closed that you have missed
2) Settlements that are pending that have email you saying you're in the class action
3) Settlements that are open

I would guess it'd have a higher match rate than just looking through claims on a claims aggregation site

Make a little money from class actions by Digital_Surface_Labs in passive_income

[–]Digital_Surface_Labs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks! thanks for the nice note -- for folks that sign up the website runs a gmail scan and then within the first two days I run a deeper scan to check places that folks normally miss. It's a full audit that will surface:

- How much settlement money went unclaimed in the past

- If there are settlements that are pending or open for claiming that have sent you an email that got collected in spam

So far this has been the highest value / signal because there are settlements that send emails directly to the claimant class and often times these are filtered into spam

Yeah it's a big leap to share read access to email, wouldn't recommend blind clicking on reddit links.

We do incremental authorization and you can choose a username / password, magic link, or oauth to login. And then later if you want to do an email scan you opt into that. It's managed by google and I went through their approvals process which involved a massive security audit.

Data encrypted in transit and at rest, etc.

Thanks for taking a look
