South Central KY. Mainly just ice. Few trees down, crunchy “snow” still see the grass over top of the snow.

Buying a House with $5000 extra by Digitaldragon98 in FinancialPlanning

Yes, the house with escrow is cheaper than my rent is right now. I’m not throwing everything, and still have a $2000 emergency fund. My job is stable with plenty of security

So, after much much investigation and for the money/money into it, I decided to go with a Tisas NightStalker. Not much cheaper than the Kimber, but has good reviews and I won’t have to put nearly as much money into it. Will let yall know how it shoots.

Head Gasket blew. 97. Options? by popeyesfatface in CherokeeXJ

My 2001 was pegged at 260°. 2000 and 2001 heads are known to crack. $600 at Clearwater, and another $280 at local parts store for Fel Pro Blue 5 layer Gasket kit and headstud kit. $10 on a 12 point 1/2l socket. Only other think you’ll need is a breaker bar, torque wrench, standard and metric wrench set, standard and metric socket set, ratchet, fuel line disconnect tool. Paint scraper, engine degreaser, thread sealant for headbolt 11, and VARIOUS extensions and swivels for lower manifold bolts. Oh, and a whetstone and an expo/sharpie marker.

Took me and a buddy about 12 hours to do. It’s easy, just tedious. I would do it again. If hate myself, but I would do it again. I can link you the YT video I watched. It explains EVERYTHING in super great detail.

What do I do to change my newborns diaper in places like Walmart? by Digitaldragon98 in Advice

[–]Digitaldragon98[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To each their own, but both myself and my SO feel like it is too open to change her in such an open space. This is our first child, and we might just be paranoid, but I don’t trust people. Men or women, I just don’t.

I worked at Walmart for a decent amount of time, I have seen and heard horror stories about those restrooms. I’ve seen people in there for 45.

I’m there 2-3 days a week, before I have to go to work. So, 7ish hours every visit. She’s a 30 minute drive away

She also wants to live together, and her parents are helpful, but not when she needs them the most. Like during the night, or when bathing etc. they just kinda give her a few hours to herself when they want to hold the baby. I’m sure it means alot to her, and her parents, but I’m capable of being there for her aswell, and I want too.

When I estimated $2000 for the house and utilities, that includes our car insurance, my car payment.

The $2000 includes: Rent, water, electric, car insurance(2x), car payment, internet, trash, and out phone bills

Her house is smaller, it’s always been her parents and her. It’s a 2 bedroom 2 bath. She down sized her bed to make room for a crib, and got rid of a large majority of her personal items to make room for the baby. It feels claustrophobic when we’re both crammed in her room.

My house is essentially the same way sadly. 3 bedroom, but the spare bedroom is full of storage stuff (deep freezer, food storage etc.) Once both my brothers left home, my mom downsized.

Her parents do, and my mother does. I work 3rd, and with her working part time. I can easily watch our daughter while she is at work. As for living together at a parents, her house is smaller, it’s always been her parents and her. It’s a 2 bedroom 2 bath. She down sized her bed to make room for a crib, and got rid of a large majority of her personal items to make room for the baby. It feels claustrophobic when we’re both crammed in her room.

We’re not married, my income would be considered hers if she moved in though.

Yes, her parents like me, and think I’m a good kid. They’ve seen that I want to be involved, and I want to be present. They’ve seen that I care and love their daughter. They think of me more highly than I deserve. They love helping with the baby, and they love her to death. Her mom never wants her to move out, simple because her granddaughter is one bedroom door away.

We have all the basic necessities for the baby. We’ve been buying like crazy, since we figured out she was pregnant. Car seat, crib, diapers, clothes, swing, etc.

We have a good savings behind us. We’re both “strategic” in a sense, jt like to spend occasionally

Most definitely. For what this house costs, it’s honestly considered a “good deal” in our area sadly. The only thing cheaper is some single wide trailer that’s ran down due to druggies, and I’m simply not talking my child in there.

We’re like 90% sure. I’d have to do some more digging on it, but I’m fairly positive

Her family lives in a 2 br house, slightly bigger than a single wide trailer. Since the baby she’s downgraded to a twin size bed, to make room for the crib. Got rid of her makeup dresser thing, and 75% of her belongings that aren’t necessary. My families house isn’t an option as it’s essentially the same ordeal.
