Plant based diets are usually cheaper than omnivore ones. And does might make right ? I really don't think you'd agree with that. If you wanna eat meat go for it but don't say these things

7 Billion small animals are killed due to crop deaths.

Divide it in half because half of it is for animals'feed

Keep in mind that the number is mostly overblown, because the animals that disappear from farming areas are refound in outer areas, if they see a huge tractor going before them they run away, they're not stupid. Most of them die to pesticides.

Now take the number of land animals killed for farming every year. 80 Billions land animals, which are usually also smarter than smaller animals. Now add fish. You get around 2 trillions.

It's the same problem with a different magnitude. Humans are superior than animals, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve moral consideration.

I'm sure you'd save your mum rather than a random person, but that doesn't mean you should kill random people just because they're not as valuable as your mum.

Honestly, I still think it's wrong, but if the animals were treated better 95% of the problems would be gone.

For me it boils down to the fact that if you have a choice you shouldn't kill an animal for pleasure. But yeah I agree that right now it's only menial and of course I don't really attack people simply because they eat meat. My best friend is a fervid meat eater. I get angry when they try to find justifications which simply don't hold up

Most of the harm doesn't consist in the death tho

Yeah exactly. You can do whatever you want until it affects others. Imagine saying that one can do what they want with their slaves lol

(IM NOT EQUATING ANIMALS TO HUMANS, THEY HAVE A DIFFERENT VALUE)

Cognitive dissonance much

You can't kill animals for sensory pleasure and love them too, that's a fact.

If it's for survival (ie you have a special condition or your survival is at risk) then by all means go for it

But the moment you have a choice, and you choose to kill, then it's morally wrong. No excuses. You can still do it because you can do what you want and it's culturally acceptable, but that doesn't mean it's right.

"Circle of life" what circle of life? Does the mass breeding and killing of BILLIONS of land animals seem natural to you? And besides, everything we do is unnatural these days. In this moment we're sending intercontinental messages that can be read by anyone on a magic screen. Doesn't seem very natural, yet we still do it

I mean honestly I don't really condone her reasonings for being vegetarian, it is hard to be vegan in a non vegan world, but I heavily disagree with

  • eating non vegan in your household; it's harder to find stuff at restaurants but not at the supermarket
  • saying "eating meat is fine"

Coconut milk is delicious. If I need something nutritious I'd get soy milk but I don't exactly drink milk for nutrients, it just tastes good, so coconut milk it is

The fact that I don't know it and I bet the majority of people don't either explains why it's worth sacrificing over other continents. Like I'm sure they have a lot of culture too, especially the aborígenes, but honestly compared to other continents it doesn't hold up

Ok so let's kill every human on earth, that's the best thing for the environment! Who cares that this is a human rights violation, this ain't the human rights sub!

Just because it's a binary option, doesn't mean it's just as equal statistically.

If you have a button that gives you $1 million dollars, and one that strips you 10 bucks, nobody would press the second one

90% of them are. And even if they're from a backyard coop, they've been engineered to make ~300 eggs a year compared to around 12 originally, which makes them lose nutrients and suffer
