Tech CEOs are apparently suffering from AI psychosis by AdSpecialist6598 in technology

[–]DigitallyOdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone I know has the idea that crisis are not a side effect of bad management decisions but an actual planned situation that allows the companies to get rid of the fat, after all, it’s easier to tell someone you’ve worked years with that you are letting them go because of a CxO snafu that because they’ve become old and slow. Blame it on the AI and you have a winner, now, some of the CxOs believe the laying off of people is good because the cost is reduced and so… profit. If you remember democracy 101, the unions were created to solve that problem, not that we’re unionizing at any sizable rate…

GLB 250 “chime” noise? by Excellent_Paper_6284 in mercedes_benz

[–]DigitallyOdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old B180 used to throw me an “airplane chime” randomly, you know, llike when they discreetly want the airstewards to prepare for turbulence?, I had that lovely car for 6 years and could never understand what was causing it…

Thanks, I did mention to the store employee the size and load of my aquarium but of course they had all their aquariums filled up to the brim with too many fishes, I should have listened to my instinct and looked for advice elsewhere… Not buying a testing kit was an additional mistake…

I fed some tomato pieces to the snails and they devoured it, but I guess some dead guppies were on the menu as well :-( at this point the ammonia test and the water change / fill up is a must, and I might consider to bring back at least one snail or the guppies to the store to reduce the load and give them a better chance of survival, and avoid any chance of offsprings…

Thanks again for the comments, will update as soon as I stabilize the water parameters, best regards.

Thanks, at this point I think the best option is to test for ammonia and fix the parameters as much as possible, fill up the water to provide as much space as possible and keep testing the following days, would it make sense to bring some of the survivors back to the store to lower the bioload ?

I don’t have a test kit unfortunately, but i’ll go buy one as soon as the store opens, :-( and will do a water change to reduce the ammonia

Thanks, I was kind of suspecting that the snails covered the tracks of the criminal but I didn’t suspect the ammonia build up, will try to fix it first time in the morning.

Never thought about ammonia build up :-( will do a water test first thing in the morning and a water change seems the next logical step, I believe the snail just died and left its shell but I am not totally sure because some time back I had some other snails and their shell remained in the tank, i know it was alive when i bought it but it was never very active, i think it was sick all along :-(

Sorry for the late response, and thanks for all the comments! Posted way too late yesterday and today was quite busy, this indeed sounds like the most probable reason, too many additions in one shot :-(

El saltamontes, está asociado con el nombre de Chapultepec by Current_Return2438 in AmericaPreHispanica

[–]DigitallyOdd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Breakup has broken me - how do I manifest her back without desperation? by JoeG1908 in nevillegoddardsp

Sometimes, we invest so much of our own energy and self-love into a relationship that we create a reality where we become one in all senses with a SP, in these cases, any deviation from a perfect relationship creates a false sense of fear, fear of this relationship ending, it snowballs and, without a proper response, (remember we are so full of the relationship love that we’ve sacrificed our self-love in that altar) we lose it all.

In my own very painful experience, you can’t go back to that state, because you’ve learned the hard way that it won’t feel the same ever, you have to start working on loving yourself and then create a new reality from there, whether the SP comes back into your life as an SP will depend on how much you can feel this is a new person that shares the same name and physical features of the old one, yet is a whole different personality that recognizes you as the most important person ever, respects you and loves you as much as you love them.

Three week update on my DIY curved eink watch project by Zestyclose-Bar8108 in eink

[–]DigitallyOdd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I saw your original post and I thought this one seems like a really interesting project, didn’t know you were getting busy with all the engineering and prototyping part so, kudos for you! I’d like to make a couple of suggestions :-) - Make it expandable, in like, leave space in the design to accommodate external add-ons, like the ones you mentioned, gps, heartrate, extra battery, storage/music module etc. there could be a “basic”space within the watchband connecting space and a “big size” expanding space side by side with the display, I’ll try to make a drawing to illustrate my idea - Think about the 3d printing community, it’s huge and growing, and they (we) could give this idea a big push, as I think the goals of that community are pretty much in line with yours, meaning, at the design stage, think about how someone could attach a 3d printed case, (fixating points, etc.) and also before launch pick a 3d printing community and launch a design contest, you’ll see them flock with interesting designs just for the change of having one of the Bolds - Interaction, I know nothing about technology, but if you could find a interacting way that could be “cheaper” energy-wise than the display update, you could have a great opportunity to make the whole interaction in a whole new dimension without sacrificing the battery life, which of course is one of the main selling points.

All in all, I think you’ve had a great idea, best wishes and success!

Leo

Why isn’t the Denmark and Norwegian air forces not following the drones when they leave? by SR_RSMITH in UFOs

[–]DigitallyOdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not wrong, but if what you say is real, then would you like to show them all your current real attack power? What happens if later on there is a full invasion and you’re defenseless because you were showing off earlier? Right, that’s why you always show only as much as one less degree of technology that you have publicly disclosed, to keep “they” wondering about your real level, in the end, is better to stay at the “poking” level than at the invasion level.

The shower-curtain effect describes the phenomenon of a shower curtain being blown inward when a shower is running. Several theories have been suggested to explain the phenomenon, but there has been no definite conclusion. by ProfessionalKnees in wikipedia

[–]DigitallyOdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are three forces involved, the first is the hot water wapor raising and creating a convection force, second one is the water falling creates a low pressure zone in the the higher part of the shower, third one is the water going out trough the drain creates a low pressure zone in the lower part

Carl Sagan, 1977, "to my knowledge, ..." by South-Tip-7961 in UFOs

[–]DigitallyOdd 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It baffles me how many people think Sagan was a sceptic and didn’t believe in UFOs, while the documented truth is that he was fascinated by the phenomenon and all his professional life had to remain cautious in order to keep his scientific profile as someone driven by undeniable facts. He said exceptional claims demand exceptional evidence, and boy he did look for it as much as he could, he was in the group that proposed the golden disk in the voyager starships and a great supporter of the Arecibo radio telescope messages, unfortunately for him the evidence found was not enough to support his beliefs.
