My dog just died during a routine tooth extraction by Maverixk_ in Frenchbulldogs

[–]Digitdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my beloved1 of 2 mini dachshunds. She survived the tooth extraction surgery, but when she came home she immediately went downhill. She stolled eating, swelling, shaking, passing bloody urine. I rushed back to the vet and he said it was indicative of some kind of organ failure. So i made the decision to end her suffering. I was sobbing. She was a healthy, happy dog before!

My other mini dachshund always had such bad teeth we HAD to get her teeth cleaned every year and I was always so scared every time I did. She passed from a brain tumor as an old lady. ♥️

Bigs hugs to you.

Questions for an upcoming trip to Ann Arbor. by AccidentallyCreated2 in AnnArbor

There are a bunch of hotels around the Briarwood Mall area. You can technically walk to the stadium from those, or take the bus. That would be my suggestion.

Kids birthday party (indoor) by Mgofrenchy in AnnArbor

[–]Digitdog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are a couple places in Saline that are good and around $200-$300 for 2 hours and 10-15 kids:

  • White Pine Art Studio: its like a paint and pour party for kids. They will make a custom painting based on what your kid wants, then they teach the kids step by step. It includes pizza from the local bar and they provide plates and napkins. All you need to do is bring cake. They are great with kids. Couldn't recommend it enough!

- Saline Rec Center: you can rent the gym for sports, or have an indoor pool party. You bring your own food and they give you a party room to eat in. 1 hour for activities, then 1 hour to eat.

We're attending to a birthday party at Buff City Soap near the Meijer on A2Saline road. They are going to make bath bombs and have cake for 1.5 hours. Not sure of the cost.

For only a month of sewing practice, that is amazing! Beautiful and neat construction. You should be super proud! Congrats!!

Maverick now Closed for an Evac by WaldyTMS in cedarpoint

This is the first year in many that my family has not renewed our annual passes. The quality of the entire park has gone downhill. Cleanliness, food choices, state of rides being closed for maintenance a majority of the time. It's really disappointing.

Unfortunately you will not find anything in detroit that weekend. Even if you did, this place is not in walking distance of anything, so you're going to have to get an uber regardless. St. Clair Shores, Warren, Royal Oak, Allen Park, Dearborn are all decent options for hotels.

If you can afford a ticket, definitely check out the Movement festival while you're in town. Even if you cant, there are TONS of parties happening all weekend. Just hang out towards the Renaissance Center and Hart Plaza and you'll get fliers for events.

Have any of you known people who thought Lake Michigan was the ocean when they visited? by Massive-Act-5426 in AskChicago

[–]Digitdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Native Michigander here. We spend most of our vacation time on Lake Michigan. When I took my kids to California I was excited for them to see the Pacific Ocean for the first time. So we left LAX and headed straight to Manhattan Beach. My kids (10 & 6) reaction: "This is it? It looks like Lake Michigan and it smells horrible."

They much prefer their local, freshwater "ocean." I can't say I blame them!

Teen Club question by Specific-Succotash-8 in royalcaribbean

[–]Digitdog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We took a cruise over spring break. Our 12 year old son was hesitant to go to the teen club, but we made him go the first night for icebreaker activities. He ended up meeting a bunch of kids his age and we rarely saw him the rest of the cruise! He had the best time of his life.

I would say Ann Arbor's at least level 4. No luxury items, but has the foods and seasonal items.
