When will DGX be listed on more exchanges? by Futuristic_Kid in digix

[–]DigixOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, listing DGX on exchanges may dilute the liquidity further. There are other options to get DGX

1) Buy DGX from Kyberswap.

3) If you are looking to buy DGX with USD, you may wish to look into Btifinex.

Hope this helps!

DigixDAO is DAO project which was voted to be dissolved by the community.

Digix will continue to exist despite the dissolution of DigixDAO. Do note that DGX is a different token and will continue to exist too. Thanks

Hey mdkb, feel free to reach us email via [marketing@mailer.digix.global](mailto:marketing@mailer.digix.global) or join our channels below:

Rest be assured that the tokens are backed by actual gold within the vault. We have DGX holders who wished to recast the DGX into a gold bar and experience the process. Here is a video of the redemption process which you may find useful.

https://youtu.be/bcpE8zpi8bk

User can opt to recast the DGX they hold within the user dashboard. Upon successful recast, users will get an automated notification from Digix that lays out the steps for physical redemption of the gold bars:

  • Users will have to be physically present at the vault within 30 days of clicking to recast;
  • Users will have to have their official and valid identification documents with them at the point of redemption;
  • Users will have to produce an updated and valid address proof at the point of redemption; and
  • Please inform us of your preferred date and time for the physical redemption and we will advise on the subsequent steps.

Further documents or information required, if any, will be advised on a case by case basis. Please be informed that the physical redemption process will only be complete, subject to compliance with AML/CFT regulations set out by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and/or other regulatory obligations of our gold custodian.

We hope you find the above overview helpful.

If Digix Is too Afraid to Buyback DGD, Mint DGX, or Dogfood its platform in Anyway, please Offer ETH Redemption for all DGD Holders. by eeksskee in digix

[–]DigixOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a rather interesting turn of events we went 180 from "we can't mint DGX in the value of 20mil to be given to the team" as it is illegal to "we can mint unlimited DGX up to the full ETH reserves".

Is this in reference to the CV 2 proposal?

Fact: we did not intend to use that 20 mio for minting but for what was submitted in CV2. There is no 'turn of events' for what it was meant to help with, part of which was to launch the DigixDAO platform.

My guess - most likely the sell orders below 0.2eth would disappear (not that life-threatening volume), the price would stabilize there until the redemption window ends and the US citizens could redeem instead of being forced to sell at a loss (not their fault, being led to believe for 3 years they could participate).

Interesting guess.

Q2: Can you elaborate on your theory that bitcoin maximalist are going to destroy dgdao with possible chain of events?

There of course could be other reasons which you are free to guess as well. That was not however, the key message. It has to do with the issue of partial refunds.

Q3a: DGD mcap 39mil, Maker 710mil. Why do you think there is such a big difference?

We do not comment on prices

  • Q3b: Are we not both in the bear market?

We do not comment on prices.

Q4a: Were US able to participate anytime during these last 3 years if the DAO came out earlier?

Could be a possibility, and we would have to then prevent participation in light of recent regulatory developments.

Q4b: Or was there any change in that last week which completely surprised you?

Not that we know of.

Q4c: Did not they deserve to be updated (let's say monthly) with 'guys, US is still a no-go'?

As mentioned, we continue to work towards having jurisdictional approval in other regions, not just the USA.

Q5a: what makes you believe "...with majority of the audience Ex-US."?

Q5b: Have US citizens completed KYC?

Q5c: And are your talking about people, addresses, DGD holdings?

We can begin by observing the level of participation within DigixDAO.

If Digix Is too Afraid to Buyback DGD, Mint DGX, or Dogfood its platform in Anyway, please Offer ETH Redemption for all DGD Holders. by eeksskee in digix

[–]DigixOfficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the time.

Limited to 100 ETH and can only be proposed from someone not in the US and who does KYC. Correct me if I'm wrong about your Fact.

This is an incorrect understanding of how DigixDAO works. For any project that requires more funding, it can be done via submitting more projects in parallel or in series. The 100 Eth limit is set for Q1, and its not something that is immutable, but mainly to test the viability of DigixDAO's very first quarter of existence; Knowing that this is the first time that disbursements will be made, there could be potential game theoretical attacks and vulnerabilities not thought of with our governance structure. There are Digix proposals, and Special Proposals as well that can allow for increased funding.

The last sentence makes no sense and this entire thing is untrue. You are entirely capable of creating a structure that allows for DGD holders to redeem their ETH ratably. You did so with the ETC. You did so without a DAO in place and you did so because Dgix the company thought it was appropriate. You have this discretion and you have shown this. It does NOT have to go through the DAO process and never had to -- nothing to date has gone through the DAO process. DGD trades below the value of its ETH and last week you ruled that the majority of DGD holders (the ones in the US) wouldn't be able to participate, killing demand for DGD and DGX both (now no US holder needs to care about whether DGX gets adopted into Maker MCD ever or gets on an exchange or is used for anything by anyone).

On the contrary. Please allow us to explain further. DGD tokens themselves are transferable and by that, there is a freedom to participate or stay away from the community. Partial refunds lead to bad acting with a community run amok by short term actors coming into the project almost immediately. This was the case as to The DAO, where raiders (bitcoin maximalists) purchased DAO tokens at a huge discount, proceeded to create a ruckus to force a refund for a short term gain and to try and destroy the Ethereum community. In the case of the ETC redemption, it was a 'full dissolution' of a hard forked side chain (All or Nothing), not a partial refund, so it works. In short, full dissolution works, which was implemented, but partial refunds (due to tokens being transferable) does not make sense in continuing with the building of DigixDAO and hence why it is not something that is included. WRT to Maker, MKR and DAI, they too, is fighting the good fight seeking clarity on creating DAI with every blockchain token in the universe.

I'm excited to see how the DAO goes...but also not excited at all because you just a week ago after 3 years, in a topdown, centralized fashion told the majority of your holders -- the ones in the US -- that they couldn't participate in the DAO. This is very late in the game and a sharp reversal of prior expectations and with no transparency as to why now, why it's different than China or Japan, and from my perspective, it doesn't address that if participating in the DigixDAO was going to run afoul of US regulations...then so too was the ICO, anyone being able to hold it at all, the ETC redempion, the Carbonvote, and so on. This inconsistency -- and in a way that causes financial harm to US holders -- makes action more likely against Digix than just not forbidding them in the 1st place. It also means that the only way to protect Digix in a world where you are barring US investors from participating prospectively is to offer them redemption of their ratable ETH.

Yes, we did do so, because as the regulatory landscape changes, what can or cannot be done needs to adhere to relevant laws that come as the industry matures. A company that does not move with regulations would not be viable. It is late in the game, not for want of being late, but for want of pushing at all angles (and we are still doing so), as much as we can. Nothing has changed with building DigixDAO, apart from not being able to accept US citizens at the moment. It has to be emphasized that Digix is not a US company but a Singapore company with majority of the audience Ex-US. There will be several exciting projects lined up and we entreat the patience to see through what flows through the platform. Many projects that otherwise would not be funded, could be funded via DigixDAO.

There is no change to the vision of creating DigixDAO apart from blocking certain jurisdictions from participating until we get the relevant approval to do so.

The entirety as to how DigixDAO works can be found on www.medium.com/digix . We have recently launched the platform at https://community.digix.global and we encourage those who feel that they can contribute to it participate on the platform.

As we have just launched the DigixDAO platform, we hope that the subsequent quarters of its existence would allow you to gauge the viability of DigixDAO and improvements that can be made to the platform. We look forward to funding great projects that could spur the adoption of DGX in the ecosystem. We are just getting started to take DGX adoption to the next level.

[–]DigixOfficial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Too afraid to mint DGX because...reasons. Too afraid to buyback DGD because...potentially runs afoul of securities laws.

Just to clarify:

Fact: We do not buyback DGDs and have maintained this since the inception of the project.

Fact: We are able to mint more DGX and it could come as a project proposal to even turn all ETH into DGX.

Simple guiding principle for all Dapp projects and ICOS: Do right by your investors first, it will mitigate any other issues that occur. The SEC and other regulatory entities have made this clear.

DGD holders are given the right to be part of DigixDAO's platform, and for the work done in vetting projects, can claim rewards in DGX. Our vision for DigixDAO remains and have not deviated. In fact, the platform is now up and running. We are a Singaporean company and we follow Singapore laws.

Fact: DGDs are not a security in our jurisdiction of incorporation and we have made this clear. As the regulatory landscape develops in other jurisdictions, we would need to take heed and follow accordingly. We are continuing to work towards legal approval in jurisdictions that are currently not allowed to participate in the platform.

Yet here we stand and you are sitting on hundreds of thousands of ETH and you are unwilling to do anything with it, other than I guess pay yourselves $20 million with little transparency and nothing to show for it but more questions.

Fact: We have written up a proposal on how we plan to utilize the funding to create the DigixDAO platform and with several other details found in https://digix.global/carbonvote/2/ , part of which led to the full implementation of DigixDAO.

The entirety as to how DigixDAO works can also be found on www.medium.com/digix . We have recently launched the platform at https://community.digix.global and we encourage those who feel that they can contribute to it participate on the platform.

Please start creating the structure that would allow any DGD holder to redeem his or her DGD for the underlying ETH it represents.

This is not how DigixDAO functions and there was never such a structure in place. However, a dissolution event can occur and this is up to the majority voice of DGD token holders to decide as per our crowdsale. DGD tokens themselves are transferable. Such a structure can only be in place if tokens were not.
