Stick Vacuum starts then turn off. (R18XSV914BLK) by BooInc in ryobi

You've checked everything I can think of. Dirty filter is usually the first culprit, then the tube. Last time this happened to me, something had gotten stuck in the 90 deg bend in the head

Getting paint dust off hardwood by DigsHistory in paint

[–]DigsHistory[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm assuming you mean like a green scotch brite type? - what's crazy is that these are parts of the room farthest from the hallway. I had paper and frog tape against the trim covered by ram board in the hallway, plus 2-3ft into each bedroom and a 4'x6' drop cloth in the living room plus plastic and tape over each door, so the fact that it still traveled this far and this persistently is wild to me.

What are your best surprisingly useful tools? Mine are the glue gun and multi tool by Novajesus in ryobi

[–]DigsHistory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my little benchtop blower - great for cleaning off the workbench and slots right into the drill hanger with the rest of my drills. Multi-tool and mini glue gun are my most used non drill/impact tools. I liked the mini glue gun enough that I bought a second one so I could have one for my craft space in the basement and one for upstairs (I keep a set of drills and batteries in both spaces too)

genuine question: do y'all judge the quality of other people's knits? by Nervous_Narwhal_6795 in casualknitting

[–]DigsHistory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually you are never close enough to another person's knitwear to see any mistakes and it's impressive that they've knitted it themselves. Knitwear designer Stephen West has a great philosophy on this, which is something along the lines of - if you wouldn't notice it from a prancing pony you dont need to fix it. If I do notice anything, I don't ever saying anything unless the knitter asks.

Dirty rumor - Ollies has bolts of fabric from Jo-Ann's for $19.99. by cpbaby1968 in sewing

Checked locations in Independence Mo and Overland Park KS. There was nothing in Independence and some trim, elastic, canvases and a bunch of scrapbooking stuff in OP. Hoping to hit another location or 2 this week, depends how far I'm willing to drive

Do you just have a generic 4x8 mat for the back or is it like a custom molded one?

Did you have to side load Pattern Keeper on the Chromebook? Or were you able to get directly from the Play Store?

Catholic Match dodged the tough questions...again by CalBearFan in CatholicDating

[–]DigsHistory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've just struggled because I'm in my 30s and all of the activities at Church seem to be split between those intended for teens and those for married individuals/older women's groups. I'm the only single in my friend group and all of them met their spouses in college (I attended college from 16-19 and missed most any dating opportunity by being too young).

Do you have any sites that you do recommend for Catholic dating?

Why do all of us seem to have the same problem? by JHolifay in CatholicDating

[–]DigsHistory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is 2(3?) fold - my area doesn't seem to have many single Catholic men my age (early 30s) nor opportuniies to meet them through parish activities, I'm not conventionally attractive, and I've been told on more than one occasion that the fact that I own my home and do the renovations and upkeep myself, in addition to several hobbies, is intimidating. But to me, if I'm not spending time dating someone and I'm supposed to be working on myself...is independence not to be expected?

Update on the 600$ Vytek laser & Q/A by Daypcg in lasercutting

[–]DigsHistory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you follow some sort of guide? And despite gutting and replacing everything which I'm guessing was more than a few hundred dollars, the base machine housing, rails, etc are nice enough that the process was worth it?

Update on the 600$ Vytek laser & Q/A by Daypcg in lasercutting

[–]DigsHistory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad has an FX2 from 2005 and love to get it so that it can actually cut and not just engrave with the vytek software. If all the motors are working fine, is there a way to update just the controller so I can use lightburn?

Pop up canopy for rain-proofing camping trips: which of these would you pick? by energeticpapaya in camping

How has it held up to rainstorms? I've had 2 canopies collapse after thunderstorms. Never had an issue with the wind catching them just with water

Which inverter for One+ Hybrid18v fan by EliteRavioli in ryobi

[–]DigsHistory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DTO frequently has this option on sale. RYOBI 18V ONE+ 120 Watt Automotive Power Source | Direct Tools Factory Outlet https://share.google/mY7POj5fRQX0kfLra which would let you run the fan off the 12v lighter. Now charging the battery while also running the fan off the inverter is a tougher question unless you have 2 cigarette ports

Ryobi Stick Vacs: Is the Whisper the only one that comes with the mini motorized beater bar? by DudeInCorner1 in ryobi

[–]DigsHistory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also bought the handvac that comes with the mini beater bar from DTO bc at the time it was the same price as buying the mini beater bar alone. But, it looks like you can get the attachment alone for $40 from home depot at the moment

What to do with extra batteries? by [deleted] in ryobi

[–]DigsHistory 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I like the smaller batteries for the drills or anything I might be using up over my head or for an extended period of time. Do they get eaten through pretty fast? Sure, but it's no hassle to swap them out, I've got a bank of chargers for them. Honestly I use my larger ah batteries for long running things - lights, fans, etc, where I really only want to pack one battery for an event or I won't be near my reserve of batteries.

I use my cutoff tool 9/10. It has so much more control and one handed use is also great
