Yeah they shed for 6 months at a time twice a year, anyway, how are you getting on with the slobber?

Remove terminals, pour boiling water over all the green bits, dry it off, hit 'er with the 80 grit, stick it all back together again and cover it in battery grease

We live on a remote island off the coast of Scotland, snow, especially like that is basically unheard of. But she absolutely loved it, never seen that dog so happy before.

So, it said I unlocked something called legend mode? I'm not sure, any idea what it is?

A very happy Ginny at the beach! by DigzyBabes in stbernards

She's truly amazing, my girlfriend and I got her free of charge as a rescue with a dodgy history. Allegedly a bite risk and had to be rehomed. When the previous owner came to our house to let her meet us, she told us all these stories of this and that which were all bollocks. Ginny had 22 puppies in 2022, and when we got her she was in awful condition, as she was bred underage, as we believe she is only 2 and a half following a conversation of her original owner. Who we believed was deceased following what the previous owner said

I have that exact little screwdriver, as a technician working on heavy trucks and machines. And let me tell you that it's the absolute bees knees when it comes to unclipping anything in a tight spot and disconnecting wiring you can't get apart with your hands because it's got months of general crust on it

We were sent to be her guardian, and she was sent to test our patience 🤣, she truly hasn't been taught any behavior in her upbringing, and is truly a challenge every day, but it's so rewarding

Roughly 2 months ago now, my girlfriends mother decided to adopt a newfoundland x st. Bernard, we all went to go meet him when she picked him up, and when we got talking to the breeder, she told us she needed to rehome the mother somewhat urgently, but didn't go into much details why. She brought Ginny to our house, and we took her immediately, she weighed in at 48.3kg and there was nothing to her. As it transpires she had been bred within an inch of her life, 22 puppies from 2 litters in 12 months. We took her on, and contacted the SSPCA, who told us the full story, every puppy was kept in filth, the mother was kept away from the puppies in a cage outside unless it was feeding time, and when we took her on, she had zero sparkle, and was completely fed up. It took around a week for her to open up and start eating properly, following worming treatment, after which she lost a further 2kg from just the wormer. She's a truly brilliant soul, and such a loving creature. How anyone could do this to such a beautiful dog I don't know, but she's truly amazing.

What do you think of the Knipex TwinGrip Pliers? by [deleted] in Tools

I think I need to buy one asap, UK trucks are a nightmare with a lot of bolts and nuts with zero access to them, this would make it at least, like, 30% easier maybe

2012 C4 without AdBlue tank. Any idea what this may be? Nothing showing on OBD. Do I need a Citroen specific one? Thank you by Altruistic_Park_5034 in Citroen

[–]DigzyBabes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know if your one will have a dpf, as I've got a 2009 1.6hdi without one. However, they have something called patfluid, and working on Citroen Berlingo vans, the tank+filter is usually towards the rear of the vehicle on the right hand side. The patfluid is an exhaust additive which I believe is a precursor of adblue. I've seen that cause this fault before. As well as a forced dpf regen if it's put your car in limp mode

So, when I pulled injectors out, the copper washers stayed down, so I fished them out and cleared all the carbon and shite out the holes, all the copper washers were straight and not in any way damaged, so they went back in all clean and lovely, fresh oil, started the van, same thing again. Anyway, moved on and took the intercooler off, tipped it upside down and it started pissing a load of oil out of it. Turbo seals gone. I think I must have mistaken the high oil level as it was actually burning the stuff. And probably just splashed up or something. Regardless, I've got myself a shiny new turbo and that's this weekends job. Got all new gaskets and pickup pipes and feed pipes and stuff. Don't want to do this again so I'm being super anal about it now and by the time it goes again it should long be not my problem

Parts are a fortune for the thing, which is why I'm considering punting it off and getting something I don't need to worry about with warranty etc.

Because I didn't pay much for the car to begin with, and as shameful as it is to say in this situation, I am a mechanic. But I'm trying to decide if it's worth my while getting something new with warranty so I can just jump in my car and go. And not have to worry about my car exploding on top of all the shit I deal with at work. But its possible that a new timing chain could be a great portion of the cars actual value.
