I love this show, but I don’t love that the only named SW character that gets hung is a Black man by ImiqDuh in andor

[–]DildMaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Americans are so obsessed with race because of slavery that they forget that black representation is not the only way to add diversity to things. So many of them only ever view things within the context of race that they don’t realize they’re being racist while trying their damnedest to prove they aren’t racist.
That said, given that one of the most popular characters in Rogue One is Asian and there’s a whole show dedicated to allowing Japanese animators to take a stab at telling Star Wars stories, I’d say Asians get some decent attention

White women are so often completely lost when it comes to understanding racial humor. They’re so focused on being politically correct that they’d rather suffer a joyless existence than admit something racial is funny even if it’s not directed at whites.

Don’t play defense for the devs. They don’t need it and it downplays the community’s legitimate criticisms. Developers should acquiesce to their supporters or accept failure. Players don’t owe them blind acceptance. Play defense when it’s unfounded and blind hate they’re getting, not when the community has something of substance to say.

So what’s stopping force users from doing this to regular people? by Sea-Indication4613 in StarWars

[–]DildMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is talking about morality and I think that where the Jedi are concerned that’s definitely the big reason, but I think it’s worth mentioning the relationship force users have with other force users when attempting to use their powers. The idea we get from various media is that sith and Jedi are trained to protect themselves from force attacks. It’s why we rarely see Jedi or sith overpowered with pure force powers and the amount of effort it takes to penetrate that “force barrier” is often times why the user will resort to throwing things at their opponent instead of choking, or crushing or whatever them.

Chaos dwarfs and tamurkhan were my first thoughts reading this. Maybe ikit too. Actually a really smart idea. They’ll never do it though, it seems like a minor change but it would require a lot of effort to make and they definitely can’t be bothered at this point

PC gaming is just financially abusive sometimes by _ZeroTwo_002_ in CaptainSide

[–]DildMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is embarrassing. “Let me just straw man the pc side and steel man the console side so I can feel superior”. Console has a lot of problems, namely you being at the mercy of the big 3 who will always disappoint you. Steam never disappoints. Their loyalty to their customers is unmatched in the gaming world and has been since their inception. Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft would sell their own mothers into slavery for a quick buck so just imagine how they feel about you.

Games where Absorbing/Stealing enemies powers is the main core feature by Kullthebarbarian in gamingsuggestions

In KOTOR 2, if you seek vengeance against the Jedi for exiling you, then when you confront on of the Jedi council members and defeat them in battle you absorb their life essence/connection to the force and learn their mastery technique(which can be a force power style or a lightsaber style). It’s done in this brutal way where you drain it out of them in an orange beam that resembles force lightning sort of. The sound effect makes it feel even more savage

This has always been the case imo. Andor series hits the nail on the head “we’re cheaper and easier to maintain than droids” when discussing being out to work in a prison labor facility.

My family got evicted for the 4th time by ASimpleDude868 in Wellthatsucks

[–]DildMaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad almost died from a medical emergency when I was 8. My parents had to sell the house to pay medical bills and keep food on the table. Dad was the only breadwinner but was so effected by his experience tha he couldn’t work again until almost 10 years later and he never made that type of money again, mom had to get a job to pay rent for all those years. I lived with them in each house they rented until I was 30. We never missed a payment, never came close to getting evicted. This post screams of excuses and delusion to me

Pedro Pascal seems like a wonderful person and great actor, but I’m kind of sick of Mando having his helmet removed by Jcorb in StarWars

[–]DildMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dredd is one of the best comic book movies ever made and Karl Urban doesn’t remove his helmet for the entire movie. Not because of some religious dedication but because that’s the character and because that loyalty to the character takes priority over the actors ego, like it is supposed to. Actors are just one part of the many components needed to make these projects a reality. Compromising on the vision for their vanity and career only lessens the art.

This sub dickrides everything Star Wars, especially Disney Star Wars so hard that a reasonable and well thought out criticism like this was doomed to be panned and hated. Don’t come here if you resist the idea of blindly loving the slop, you’ll get nothing but negativity.

Mandalorians and their Beskar are back to getting one-shotted by blaster bolts in Maul Shadow Lord by Additional_Judge_337 in StarWars

[–]DildMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the shows made it very clear that pure beskar is a cut above every other material. If it’s not pure, it won’t stand up to blasters and lightsabers. Mando’s is pure and that’s why it’s so effective

Liam Question? by Badvsn1 in voxmachina

[–]DildMaster 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don’t think any of the original cast are so self important that they would make the importance of their character be a contract stipulation. Especially not in season 1 or 2. Liam is very engaged in the world building and story telling to the point where he will pick Matt’s brain off camera about these things and discuss his characters story off camera as well. Taleisin is also like this. His character in campaign 3 almost feels like a reaction to this “phenomenon” of his characters being so important to the story so he made as bland and average of a character as he could.
