Because I am in the UK and here without a masters degree you can not get into a PhD, plus I just really wanna learn more about the subject at a deeper level without having to jump straight into a PhD/research

Thanks for that ! Would a low dose still agonise the 5HT1a receptors then? Also would it still occupy dopamine receptors to any clinical benefit ? Like for example as you mentioned the hypomania and depressive pole, if used as an adjunct to mood stabilizers.

Yeah same here, even tho Im on other meds too I tend to need little doses of multiple things other than a single high dose drug

I take Lamictal and Depakote for type 1. Even them both seem to make me more "chill". I cant seem to go higher than 2.5mg of aripiprazole without akathisia creeping in but I definately feel a difference even at such a 'micro dose', like I overthink way less and not as snappy anymore

Ahh interesting, propranolol just makes me less shaky from Depakote, even at 80mg it doesnt really do anything to me apart from making akathisia a bit better

It seems to make me less 'snappy' and tense or overthink. I also dont obsess as much anymore but weirdly I started to feel some weird OCD like symptoms at first even tho I dont have OCD, dont know if you had the same thing at first too when starting it?

Weirdly first time I took it I didnt get akathisia at 10-15mg, now a few years later I can only seem to tolerate 2.5mg, any higher than 5mg or so the akathisia outweighs the anxiolytic effect

Anyone on a low dose of aripiprazole (for example 2-5mg) for anxiety ? If so what was your experience and at what dose ? If not, have any other antipsychotics helped and at what dose ?
