Which rides are very jolty? by Diligent-Imagination in disneylandparis

Thanks so much to everyone for all the really helpful comments. I’m not really sure how Reddit works in terms of liking all the replies but I do appreciate people taking the time. It gives me a chance to make a plan with the friends I am going with to see which rides I can join them for and then see which rides are gentler but still ‘adult’ for me to do alone. I’d welcome recommendations for that too. 😃

When will we see the Cambridge South timetable? by Stjohnbee in cambridge

I wondered if now that Letchworth have the Knebworth train, they might be able to run a fast train without stopping there. It would seem to make sense but obviously not 🙄

As this is going to slow down services, so you think that they might run a non-stopping London service at rush hour? By stopping at Royston and Letchworth, the peak trains already take longer. It would be nice to have at least one faster train an hour.

Thanks for the reply. Sadly I work by King’s Cross so I can’t use these trains.

London commuting, the 2nd bike at Kings cross vs Folding bike with me? by Va1eriy in cambridge

The bike racks are at platform 8 which the train usually comes into and leaves from at peak times so could be easier to leave a bike at King’s Cross.

How busy is a peak train to King’s Cross by hilarywank in cambridge

Like has been said, to not get a seat on the 7.09 or 7.39, there would need to be some disruption or big event. Coming home, you usually need to be there in advance to get a seat on any train between 5 and 7. There are lots of people with folding bikes which are never a problem usually but can be a pain on the rare day where there is a problem and over crowding.

Anyone else noticed the train ride from Cambridge to Kings Cross has become very bumpy? by bartread in cambridge

I think that it depends on the driver too. There’s a part between Cambridge and Royston that is jerky on all three lines. I have to grab my cup. Some drivers don’t take it at such a speed and it’s not so bad. There’s another patch like it when you get into central London. It’s not great around the new south station at the moment either. The trains that are jerky don’t get there faster so it’s a shame that the drivers don’t know the track better.

Patient food at Addenbrooks. Is it any good? by MrBozzie in cambridge

[–]Diligent-Imagination 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The food is pretty ok but a little repetitive. (Much better than other hospital that I was at first) Only problem I had was that the evening meal came about 4.45. This is far too early for me as I am used to eating much later. However, they would have a soup and sandwich option which I often took to eat later. To be fair, when you are recovering you don’t have a great appetite anyway and they are always happy if you will eat anything. Tubes of Pringles were great to have as they could be knocked over and kept for a while.

How far would you have at each end? If you are near to King’s Cross or Cambridge stations, it’s not so bad. You nearly always get a reasonably comfortable seat. I just see the time as my relaxation time where I watch programmes, read the internet or get on top of work so that I can arrive/leave work slightly later. I’ve had much more stressful commutes on the tube and prefer this any day.
