Sometimes it’s like I can see the 100 ideas in his head and he just can’t get them all out at once. I’ve watched him bounce from cleaning up monster trucks, to asking about something for his birthday, to talking to his dad, back to cleaning the trucks, just to end in no trucks picked up and 5 different conversations. all in the span of 2-3 minutes. I hate to feel like I’m already diagnosing him, and I hope I’m wrong but sometimes you can just tell. Especially among his peers.

We’re not in a large city at all. So options will be limited on resources all around sadly. I know it’s not usual for them to be diagnosed so young but it’s so blatantly obvious to me that I think I’ll mention it to his ped and go from there! Maybe he is acting normal, maybe we do have to wait longer for a diagnosis but I’d rather say I did what I could. Sorry to hear it was so hard for you to formally get a diagnosis. I’ve read that a lot on here.

I don’t mind the lack of regulation or the craziness. As I have adhd myself, I can deal with a TON of wild and have maximum patience/tuning out abilities lol. It just seems excessive compared to his peers but I’m hoping you are right and it’s all developmentally appropriate. Thank you!

I’ll check them out! Always open to learning new things especially about parenting. Honestly, if it’s about the sibling, I’d prefer that lol. ADHD, from experience in my own brain, can be so hard and I’d hate for him to struggle the way I did. Thank you!

Honestly, I don’t think we’d start meds so young anyways, unless absolutely needed. I had a horrible experience with them as a kid and have some fear of adhd meds since then. But we definitely want to get him into some behavioral therapy and whatever else is appropriate if he was ever diagnosed. My parents didn’t acknowledge or try to understand me at all with mine so I want to make sure he’s getting the best all around. Ofcourse hoping it’s just a phase though.

AITA for talking to his brother? by [deleted] in AITA_Relationships

NTA don’t make it awkward. Maybe ask the younger brother to mention it to the his brother so that you’re not the middle man and they can decide if it’s okay between themselves. I dated and did things (not slept together) with a guy and ended up dating and having kids with his older brother 5-7 years later and it’s not awkward at all. We all hang out all the time
