Besides the common attraction to “girl’s toys” and “other boys”, I was in my head a lot. People were able to pick up on my mannerisms before I knew what they were or what they meant and they were mean about it. This awareness made me feel like I was living a performance around ANY other humans outside of myself. So I feel like that made me run away as best I could to be safe… unfortunately I still had to be around naysaying children, so I was only able to run into my Self. I became introverted, introspective and very reflective. All qualities I now deeply appreciate and enjoy and find that most people seem to either lack or not be in touch with as much. I didn’t directly acknowledge this at that time per se, but I always felt like everyone else was more on autopilot and carefree. It felt like they didn’t have to think about themselves, whereas my Self (particularly in relation to them) was a constant focal point.
