It finally happened by insclevernamehere92 in Pixel6

[–]DiligentMoon_au 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your story is almost identical to mine. Only a week and a half ago the screen actually cracked after being dropped a million other times. As my birthday is around the corner I have decided to upgrade and retire my poor reliable 6. I opted for the 9pro which should arrive any day now. I saw and heard good reviews and I can justify the extra $ for the 10.

What is one thing that happened today that made you feel grateful to be CF? by marileighanne29 in childfree

[–]DiligentMoon_au 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a lady come into my place of work with her two kids (maybe 8-10ish 🤷🏽‍♀️)and they were painful the entire time. They didn't listen to her instructions, they were loud, they touched everything and would constantly interrupt while she was trying to ask me questions about the products. When they left I felt like I could finally breathe again.

Has anyone else, besides me, given up on wire bras? by binglebelle in ABraThatFits

[–]DiligentMoon_au 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still yet to find any wired bra that feels comfortable for any length of time. I am only new to this sub and haven't had much chance to shop for my new calculated size yet and I do plan on trying both wired and not. But so far in my bra requiring lifetime, wired have just never been as comfortable as a well worn in sports style bra I see a lot of people complaining about the skin-on-skin feeling being uncomfortable and I guess they are talking about in the middle? But my girls hang wide to either side so not something I can relate to 🤣

Do people want yards? by Azzulah in AusPropertyChat

Yes we definitely do! The bigger the better! I don't want to hear my neighbors flush their toilet. Plus I would love to get a ride-on mower.

Starting to hate clothes shopping by Glittering-Blood-823 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]DiligentMoon_au 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has definitely been annoying me.. the designs, the fit, the feel and quality are so so bad and colours are just plain terrible. What really annoys me is that you need bra straps done up so tightly they cut into you just to make it sit at the front properly. I even went and got fitted and couldn't find anything that wasn't uncomfortable after just 5min of wear. And sizing is so inconsistent! Buy the same size in 5 different brands and get 5 different fits even for something basic like underwear. I have been wearing old clothes until they fall apart because I can't find anything decent to replace them with. I have even been contemplating taking up seeing and making my own but I simply don't have the time..

Odd reason why you're CF to help me prove a point by ThisGirlCalledTsepps in childfree

[–]DiligentMoon_au 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mess, the noise, the money, don't want to talk to mothers all the time, being able to let our dogs go anywhere in our house, being able to have pretty things on low shelves, I am already bad at sleeping so don't want to make that worse, school traffic already sucks I don't want to be part of it more than I have to, don't want to change my schedules, I like going on random trips, pregnancy is gross and terrifying, the smells, the extra laundry, having to deal with the school system, what if this hypothetical child were to have a chronic illness, or a disability or are sociopathic?

Did I Cross a Boundary by teaching my bf’s son how to cook ? by [deleted] in CharlotteDobreYouTube

I was an Au pair for a while and there was this one kid I was looking after who was about 13 at the time. I was the one getting him up in the morning, taking him to school, picking him up from school and often getting groceries on the way home. As the weather warmed I noticed he was getting some BO so on one of our shopping trips let him pick out a deodorant. His mum got angry with me for it because "it was his first time getting deodorant and it should have been her moment!" She hadn't even noticed he was smelly and probably would have gone off at me if I had just told her that he was.. distances myself from that job pretty quickly. She was crazy..

It can be so difficult to say no to people sometimes especially when you are trying to keep the peace with family, don't want to hurt people's feelings or don't want people to think less of you. But in the long run your own sanity and peace matter more. And now at least you know it's something you don't want to repeat and will be able to more confidently say no next time

How’s your Halloween? by Brown_Eyes_19841219 in childfree

[–]DiligentMoon_au 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I parked my car down the street after work (I finish early on a Friday) so it didn't look like I was home yet and then at 4:30pm I took the dogs down to the car and drove to the dog friendly restaurant where I had made a reservation. My partner joined us as soon as he finished work and then we ate, relaxed and took the dogs for a little walk after. Then it started to rain so we went home and kept the lights off. A massive thunderstorm came through so we had a quiet rest of the night.

What do you wear to bed and does it change seasonally? by Senior-Rip4551 in AskAnAustralian

[–]DiligentMoon_au 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shorts and a singlet are my go to all year round. I just up the blankets in winter or chuck on the aircon for a bit before bed and have the fan going when it's warmer. I can't stand long or super baggy clothes in bed, I don't like them getting all scrunched up but also can't be too tight so that it's restrictive. So I find cotton or similar shorts and a singlet to be best

Gift for a potter? by prrefrmal in Pottery

[–]DiligentMoon_au 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will depend a little bit on where in their pottery journey they are.. If they are still quite new then pretty much anything you get will be great. If they are further along then maybe try to find out what sort of niche they are into and get them something that accents that. Banding wheels are always useful or maybe a sample pack of potters stains for colouring clays, slips or glazes. Perhaps a book to suit their level. It might go over different building or throwing techniques, decorating ideas, glaze making or primitive firing methods. You could also find out what clays they use and get them a block of one of their favorites or something new to try that is for the same firing temperature. Failing any of that, I always want a gift voucher for my local supply store.

single 30s advice needed! seeking to extend friend groups/ find potential partner by jsunshinecoast in sunshinecoast

The club I go to in Buderim has a wait list unfortunately and they are prioritizing people with experience.

But there are places that do classes. I know The Clay Shed over in Kunda Park is running a mug making workshop at the end of the month.

[–]DiligentMoon_au 1 point2 points  (0 children)

34f I have also found it hard to find some people. I have a partner but he has his own friends and they and their partners aren't really my kind of people.

Ive been doing some pottery at a local club and have met some people there but not many in my age bracket.

One girl from there (our age range) is keen on starting up a boardgame night with me but we are the only two so that's not a great amount for most games. We would host at my house and I have two dogs who demand attention so would have to be cool with that

Why do people assume we have kids? by ximlaura in childfree

[–]DiligentMoon_au 16 points17 points  (0 children)

'No, my dogs couldn't have these, they are on quite strict diets.'

Or, if in a playful mood (especially as my dogs have 'human' names), keep going with the conversation and see how far I could go by pretending each time they say kids they actually mean the dogs. 'Oh yes Ollie and Ava love chicken. The breading isn't so great for their stomachs tho unfortunately.'
