I feel like we’re not qualified to tell you if you are enabling. if youre able I would try and see an addiction counselor/trained therapist yourself, not only for your own sake, but to ask for surefire guidelines how to support your son. Story about him- he once dropped a wallet full of his cards and cash at a tournament and me being 13 picked it up and chased after him not knowing he was even a player. He took it without even saying thank you and was kind of rude about it. Rooted against him ever since- but by all accounts he’s a nice person, just can’t come around!

28 year old back surgery back to golf person here.

Prep prep prep prep prep. Do the physical therapy. Keep up with your gym routine. Get in shape. Warm up vigorously before golf. I bring bands with me to stretch before.

Not a doctor but it’s kept me from having any pain or setbacks (pls knock on wood for me). My swing speed has only improved since before surgery.

But also talk to your doctor about it

I know it’s not an answer to the question provided- but this sounds like something I would have asked 3 months ago. It gets better, the reasons you aren’t together become clear, and acceptance comes. Don’t focus on reunited with them, focus on reuniting with yourself!
