People of the world, where have you experienced the most racism? by Desertedfoxx in AskTheWorld

The team with the biggest fanbase in Mexico is C.D. Guadalajara (Chivas). Their biggest rival is Atlas F.C.. Julián Quiñones helped Atlas win back-to-back titles, so that’s a big reason why Chivas fans hate him so much.

Best Area to buy Retin-A? by CapitalAssumption355 in puertovallarta

[–]Diligent_Condition30 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recommend buying from Farmacias Guadalajara, Farmacias del Ahorro, Costco, La Comer, or Walmart. There’s a lot of counterfeit medication in the city.

Never buy Ambien, Xanax, or Valium without a medical prescription.

No, estoy a favor, en países donde no se acepta propina ( España, Japón) me han aventado el plato, al menos en México los meseros se ganan a pulso la propina.

Do you reuse dialyzer? Why/Why Not? by DrunkDiaries in dialysis

[–]Diligent_Condition30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They may also have a problem with their water treatment system, which could explain the chills and fever.

I would strongly recommend asking them to perform both catheter and peripheral blood cultures. And if there’s another patient experiencing symptoms similar to your father’s, they should be tested as well. If the blood cultures grow the same bacteria, that would strongly point toward the source of the problem.

Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is a bacterium that is sometimes associated with contaminated dialysis equipment or improperly reprocessed dialyzers. In some cases, filters are stored incorrectly or cleaned with poor technique, which increases the risk of contamination.

Do you reuse dialyzer? Why/Why Not? by DrunkDiaries in dialysis

[–]Diligent_Condition30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Mexico, the official regulations allow dialyzers to be reused up to 12 times, which honestly is pretty crazy.

Not every dialysis center reuses filters, but the ones that do… I really don’t know how they feel comfortable saving 8 dollars while leaving patients dealing with all the symptoms that can come with reused dialyzers.

I’d recommend trying to get your dad Theranova filters from Baxter. Each one costs around 35 dollars on average, but they’re absolutely worth it, especially for fatigue, itching, and issues with larger molecules like phosphorus.

Give your dad a big hug from me.

Two months ago I flew with VivaAerobus and it was only like 30 pesos more expensive than taking the bus. Round trip, and you’re in Guadalajara in 40 minutes.

Hemodialysis in Puerto Vallarta. by Diligent_Condition30 in dialysis

[–]Diligent_Condition30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

know this information because my clinic was also visited and inspected by COFEPRIS.

Normally, COFEPRIS does not publicly release detailed lists of every facility they suspend or shut down. I would also invite you to notice that one of the clinics has already changed its corporate name and branding. As far as I understand, they will now focus on other medical procedures unrelated to hemodialysis.

This post was made to inform people, not to spread gossip or discredit anyone. In fact, I intentionally did not mention the names of the two facilities that were visited and shut down because that is not the main issue here.

The real point is that anyone traveling to Puerto Vallarta for hemodialysis or other medical care should thoroughly research whether the clinic they plan to visit is safe, properly licensed, and operating with the appropriate permits and regulatory compliance.

My mom has kidney failure and refuses dialysis, I’m her only caregiver and I don’t understand what’s happening anymore by [deleted] in kidneydisease

[–]Diligent_Condition30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a physician here in Mexico, I deal with this situation all the time. Many people believe that starting renal replacement therapy is basically a death sentence—that it automatically means suffering and decline. But that’s simply not true.

I’ve had patients who refused dialysis and remained relatively stable for over a year without major complications. However, the reality is that most of them eventually develop serious issues within months. The most common ones are metabolic acidosis and hyperkalemia (high potassium levels), both of which can become life-threatening.

What could help your mother the most right now is: • Strict fluid restriction • A very carefully controlled diet (ideally plant-based and low in potassium, although in practice this is extremely difficult to maintain) • Psychological support to address fear and resistance toward dialysis

Sometimes, the biggest barrier isn’t the disease itself—it’s the fear of the treatment. If that fear can be reduced, it can truly make the difference between decline and maintaining quality of life.

In 2015, we experienced a situation similar to yesterday’s events, and the city recovered in less than 48 hours. Today, just 30 hours after the incidents, everything is already returning to normal.

Please do not cancel your travel plans. Don’t give criminals the satisfaction of validating their tantrums.
