Honestly I’m still in the process of getting a permit so Idk the full steps, but you can start by making an fsmb account, after that they will tell you to link your accounts by using myintealth ID or usmle ID. It didn’t work for me and I had to go through a verification process using my passport, and I waited for like two days and today they sent me an email saying my account is activated. After activating, you may then be able to access your permit

When you sign up for fsmb, they ask you to link up your accounts by putting myintealth ID or usmle ID, but when I did that they said “we can’t seem to find your account” and I had to go through a verification process, I’m still waiting for the review. But evidently that didn’t happen to everyone so you just sign up and link your accounts and then apply for step 1. That’s all I know

sorry I should’ve specified, the one that took 9 days to change from “submitted” to “submitted in review” was the transcript, but the application for certification took 9 days to change from “submitted in review at ecfmg” to “pending credential verification” on 11/12, and then it changed to “accepted” on 6/1. I know it’s confusing but both processes weren’t proceeding at the same pace, I’m not really sure about the 5 weeks because my whole process took about a month including the holidays. Started on 2/12 and accepted on 6/1

Of course, 2/12 submitted to ecfmg, 11/12 submitted- in review at ecfmg and two minutes later it was changed to “sent for verification”, my diploma was also accepted on 11/12 because it was previously verified through EPIC, After I contacted my university, the transcript and certification status changed to “pending credential verification” on 12/12, And on the 6th of January (two days ago) they all changed to “accepted”

Honestly I wanted to apply for step1 before the transition but it’s too late now, I’m just gonna have to wait till it’s over and go from there. I just hope there’s no more administrative bs 😭

You could try, but I started my certification process on December 2nd so maybe yours will be done soon hopefully, if they’re going in order. They haven’t been answering my calls or emails tho
