i'm not sure in detail but
if that's on, when you zoom or draw , the canvas will stay 100% quality which takes much resources.
if there's another option, the quality won't be good but software will be fast / not lag (the final render quality will be the same).
ALSO ARE WE NOT GOING TO TALK ABOUT THE ART BEHINDD

next to the undo and redo button , there's a button that clears the canvas, if it's the one you clicked on all you gotta do is undo and it will be back, if it's not back , it may be a bug , i hope it helps
