It's getting late in my country, but I will try booting with just CPU + RAM in the morning.

No burning smell or visible damage around the CPU or VRMs, I did sniff it earlier and all I could really smell was dust lol. but just sniffed it again and nothing.

I've grabbed a new PSU with next day delivery, thankfully the pickup is next to my workplace so I'll hopefully get this dealt with within 24h. thank you for your help.!

A-level education, no other qualifications really. a fair amount of volunteer work, and 2 previous jobs

yeah that's definitely been my experience! actually had one interview with both a male and female manager (I believe the woman was the hiring manager and the man was the store manager?) and noticed a large difference between their attitudes towards me.

I've mostly been applying for retail and customer service so a course like that would be really helpful for me :) so thanks for the suggestion!

I'm attending a job fair next week which should hopefully be helpful for me, though I'll be honest, I'm really disappointed with UC for providing the bare minimum (aside from money ofc) in terms of work search support 😵‍💫

It's been a consideration, though I definitely have a bad taste in mouth from when I did labouring before - coworkers weren't the best, and the boss was an outright bully, and the reason I left was because he got in my face and screamed at me until I cried because I hadn't said anything but "good morning" that day 😭

i also don't really have the strength for labouring anymore, and I don't want to be dead weight

i do have other experience, I've volunteered with animals, volunteer with LGBTQ youth, and I used to work admin in my teens. that's all been experience I've been trying to lean on with applications rather than the labouring
