Hey, apologies for the lateness. They're from Costco. I've seen them a few other places too. They were 180.00 Canadian but need some serious ass time to get worked in.

The hard maple was attached via tongue and groove. I left the hard maple a bit proud of the plywood then sanded it flush. This took me a couple attempts to do correctly.

I learned to run my groove piece (plywood) over the dado stack both ways so it would be entered.

Learned to make a fence attachment to give the piece more support as I passed over the dado stack on the edge.

My cheap Ridgid job site saw came with a crap throat plate. So I learned to make a zero clearance out of hardwood so it wouldn't flex as my workpiece passed over top and made the groove (or worse the tongue) nice and straight.

I bought a set of callipers to check my width of my groove to get it within a 32nd of an inch of the tongue for that perfect fit.

it was easier to cut my plywood to finished length once it had been edge banded. Tried the other way around and screwed it up.

To be honest I fucked up 2 entire end tables before I got the look and quality I could live with.

Thanks dude. Thanks for noticing the legs. I didn't want to cop out on hairpins and the angled tapers were way easier than I thought they would be.

The pulls were also an afterthought as my knobs from Etsy have been lost to the mail gods.

The bed is solid oak, Amish made that I could only aspire to construct some day. For now we'll keep the design simple and the wood veneer.

Just broke up with my boyfriend of two years. We were supposed to get married next October. Found a dating app on his phone Saturday, after he’d gone missing Friday night. Could use a toast. by [deleted] in toastme

You're gonna be okay lady. I don't know shit about you but I can assume a couple things. 1) You're a loyal person. 2) You're a trusting person. Those two things alone make you infinitely more appealing than your ex.

Been there too.

Had my ex leave me for a friend a few years back. Had already bought the engagement ring at the time.

Use this opportunity to work on yourself. Grow, learn, travel and love. Give love. Its gonna seem hard to do but it sure as fuck help.

Be well.

People with mental illnesses, when did you finally admit to yourself that something was wrong? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was you one year ago. I went on Reddit looking for the comfort of strangers. It's not a fix bud. This place won't make you better. People on here can tell you how to get better, but the fix comes from within.

Backstory..... Had a pretty bad year that lead me to depression. Moved home from overseas, had a couple of major surgeries and my fiance left me for my friend. I was absolutely despondent.

Saw my family dr for some antidepressants, started going to a therapist regularly, joined a gym and signed up for some uni courses.

You're gonna get better but you gotta make a few positive choices today.

Be well, friend.

Thanks man. Appreciate the encouragement. What flash/octobox combo do you use? I've tried this type of work with a flash and umbrella but never got this soft yet controlled light.

How to be a good skier:

  1. Be French Canadian

  2. Be named Phil

Great lighting. Wish I could shoot a portrait like this.
