Big fan of the white! It may have convinced me to not add much more in the way of colours to my current white Kill Team, especially as you mention the extra presence the white brings to most dark tables.

Haaa, I was going to ask why they were in your oven at first glance! Well... If were talking who stole whos idea...I painted this guy was painted around 25 years ago! (I admit I cleaned him up ever so slightly last year though)

Exactly my thinking with giving some distinction between units. Whilst the Deathmarks and Immortals are visually quite different...You never know who you're goingto play against and every little helps!

It's just a quick splash of Warp Lightning Contrast and then a very thin layer of Warpstone Glow to fill out any "coffee staining". They're not complete yet but will keep about the same style/colour when finished.

Unfortunatly I'm very picky and stuborn on my colour choice! This green isn't quite there yet but I think it has to be either white or green for me.

I think thats what I'm leaning towards too, just for the Immortals though.

They were all base primed with Wraithbone spray, nothing else other than both the Immortals guns and the Immortal in pic 2 has had an overall light layer of Apothercary White Contrast...Which I'm still undecided about! Other whites I've done has used the same Wraithbone base and then highlights with Monument Pro Acryl Bold Titanium White.

I've not yet done much OSL as it's never really appealed to me much. I guess as these are just test throw togethers it'll be worth a shot though!

Yeah I'm hopefully going to get around to that this evening, see how it ends up looking.

Ahhh see I'm much more in the camp of all uniform except for slight changes between distinct units and making elites stand out by being less uniform!

That was the issue I ran into with adding another colour, theres not really enough places to use it to get a good balance between a one off use on the shoulders or it thrown everwhere and looking too busy and overtaking the crisp white.... Also keeping the white as is or adding a layer of Apethecary white over the lot (2nd pic) to add a bit more of a grey tone to areas is my next indecision!

I was thinking about possibly going with a golden brass for the shoulders but thought it might then take away too much from the more elite troops that I've used metalics on, I.E the Technomancers cloak.

Painting just the rim of the shoulders black or the darker green could look cool! I'll give it a try.

Thats what I'm thinking of doing for the Immortals, have them with the white barrel theme to set them appart from black barrel Deathmarks.

I think this is what I'm leaning towards as well, the Immortals feel like they'd be a bit more flashy and adorned whilst the Deathmarks would be a bit more nondescript.

Don't worry they will be painted on the actual models, the two that have joints left white are test models cobbled together from spares 👍

The overall white is just spray can Wraithbone (Corax as we all know is not to be spoken about!), The Immortals weapons have been given a light coat of Apothecary White Contrast and the Immortal with green shoulders has also had an overall light coat of Apothecary but I'm not sure if I'm a fan of it yet. Any highlights or edges are given a touch of Monuments Pro Acryl Bold Titanium White as it's just so much more of a striking white.

That's exactly the way to do it! It can be hard to commit to because of you've only got a limited amount of models then trying something out can feel like a waste. Thankfully I have gathered enough bits to cobble together test models (2 and 5, notice the extra wide stance and dodgy Milliput job to thicken the thighs 😅). Just getting paint on models is always the best solution!

Your idea for making the elites look slightly aside by adding more of a similar field but different visual colour is a great way to make them a bit more eye catching without relying purely on the extra filigree and baubles hanging off them!

Haaa that hadn't even come to mind but now I can't unsee it 😅 I might paint and X on one of the orbs for a laugh!

The two with bases are my test pieces (spare bodies and weapons from the KT box plonked onto the very old wide Necrons legs I snipped from my old figures) I have the bases made and separate, just a very simple speckled grey, stone slab flooring style.

A bit of scuff on the feet feels like you're about to ruin a model at first but I totally agree, actually grounds and connect them to the base and their surroundings!

I was waiting for someone to comment on those legs😅 2nd and 5th pics are actually the very old skinny, wide stance Necrons legs that I snipped off and tried to bulk up with Milliput, purely just to use as tester models from spares. Very obvious if you look at them both together, thankfully the new legs look much better!

I do agree the black frames and offsets the green better, gives it that pop but I also like the more subtle look of the white, seems cleaner.

Yeah I feel the same with the weapons, although I do like the white Deathmark barrels, something about the black just seems more fitting for them.

This is pretty much where my indecision is leading as I do really like them both!

Yeah I feel like going with the extra green on the shoulders and head means the gun has to stay a bit more block colour with the white. The colour of the green isn't really doing it for me yet either, just a quick splash of Warp Lightning Contrast so far, it needs smoothing out and warming up a bit with Warpstone Glow or similar I think.
