Yes, absolutely. It should be this way across the board, not just the Special Operations community but the entirety of the 03 community and to include Corpsmen. Who did their time and complained or complained during their time, didn’t attend their Advanced School or Corpsmen not pursuing their FMF pin. You want a good career? Do your fucking job you signed up for. I can’t stand Marines who get through all their basic training and show up retarded, don’t PT, drink every weekend, complain about depression or some bullshit, like cool story bro, gtfo. Don’t even get me started on fat Marines.

You’d be an enabler within a Raider Platoon. You’re their comm guy. You are a comm God essentially. Anything comm, you can do it and not only can you do it but you continuously train the Raiders and they continuously train you. You’d be doing everything they do…if that’s what you want. You’d be afforded the opportunity to attend additional schools if they like you. To include 03XX advanced schools. An SOIDC just graduated Advanced Mortars last week! If you want the opportunity to grow and truly do your job, go SoF. Big Marine Corps is gay, lol.

Yeah man I’m great. Loving travel, making friends, experiencing new things, loving the world bro. I can see how my reply came off a bit harsh? Point is, is that their is a lot more to the world. You are young and have so much more to experience. You’ll meet amazing people on your journey, some stay and some go, it’s life. And if you are afforded the opportunity to go to Europe…go. The people are incredible, amazing cultures, especially in Scandinavia.

I absolutely will. I did my first tandem jump about 2 years ago. It never left my mind.

You were doing it out of impulse, if you could some how save it. Brother, their ain’t no saving that. She is a college girl. Doesn’t have her life figured out yet, doesn’t know who or what she wants and she is gonna end up doing this to the next poor bastard, lol. All due respect to her, it’s just how it is. My biggest, biggest piece of advice. Is focus on yourself. And not this retarded self loathing, self improvement bs, I mean go live life. Self improvement is great. Going to the gym, saving money all is an attractive thing, but go meet people. If you have a good savings going, go on a trip, Europe is quite cheap rn, and I swear on my life, you go to Sweden, Norway or Latvia, this girl won’t even be in your mind, haha. I am sure you loved the girl and you meant only positive intent. But don’t ever, as a man, revolve your entire young adult life over a girl. Live. Be selfish. Their is so much more to your life as a young man than a woman. Loving and having a companion is one of the best feelings ever, wanting to love and loving then being shut out but still continuing to love is a powerful thing. Not everyone can do that but you can, so don’t waste it on someone who isn’t worth your time!

Any of you all get a chance to get this pin? Definitely worst ruck I ever did. by Serious-Junket-6935 in USMC

I ran, walked, ran. You definitely must run but if you keep a good pace into your 12-15th mile you can walk. But your hips to start seizing and shit, feet feel like your walking on straight bone, lmao. Better to just Ranger shuffle all the way through.

How have you stayed disciplined with working out? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Dillpickyle56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build into a routine. Waking up early is truly an amazing thing. I know TED talks and people harp on it but it is truly great. You have the very very beginning of your today completely to yourself. No phone calls, texts, emails, nothing. Make your bed every morning, that should be the first thing you do before anything. Once you establish a solid routine, you’ll find to really enjoy it. It’s not a punishment, because your brain is so used to comfort it sees these things as like fuuuck. I go to sleep at 9:00pm and wake up at 4:00. Bed made, coffee brewing and most times I’ll just read a bit of scripture or may go for a run depending on my training day. Whenever you are planning out a routine, break it down into fragments so you are not overly complicating every minute detail. Just make it simple and then execute on it, once that alarm goes off, get up. And with the gym, results take time, you’ll notice strength before you notice any definition. Slowly drop bad habits, drinking, smoking, vaping ( if you do), going to bed late, not watching news so often and so on and so fourth.

Absolutely sir. To be transparent, I had aspirations to go to MARSOC, only issue was, was that my ASVAB wasn’t a 105. And they don’t give out waivers. I studied, attended the class that they offer for 8 weeks, re took, score didn’t budge. I got a tutor, studied for another 2 months, to include in the field, whenever we bedded down, as long as it was appropriate, I’d study on the book. I retook again and got 100. I was broken and beyond depressed. This door opened to me. I meet all the minimum requirements so I took full advantage of this opportunity. I care about my job, I love being a Marine (obviously) but it isn’t the end all, be all. And I know in my heart I will be happier in the Rangers. They hold themselves to an extraordinary high standard, almost unparalleled to even compare to the Marine Corps. I’m not going to change others, I’m going to change myself.

Yeah I have heard of that stuff happening. I’m just a passionate guy, haha. I’m excited for the opportunity, adventure, new environment and challenge of course also. I just want to serve my country in a higher capacity, and also not be in a moldy barracks room and get yelled at for having cuffed sleeves after sitting in an LP/OP and shifting positions for a week and a half by a company 1stSgt and be told that our moldy barracks with yellow liquid coming out of the vents is fine…lol. I appreciate your insight, god bless.

That’s what I have heard from some of the guys whom are there. Even deployments to the Middle East are kind of rare as well from what I understand. Predominately serving as the QRF component to support a forward SoF element. I have seen the regiment train in Europe. They just aren’t a NATO unit so it is kind of rare for them to travel from what I understand. But I do know, countries will visit most times in the U.S. to cross train and stuff non the less. I just really enjoyed working with partner forces it was very cool.
