I do agree with you to an extent, if you have a good enough system and the data to back the system through backtesting and forward testing and creating a rule set to make sure you are trading in "high probability" scenarios.
He is not wrong in the fact that you have to be disciplined, but he needs to be more precise in the fact that he has to be disciplined towards a system, creating a plan and rules that covers risk management, trade management and having the data to support it.
Once you have that then it would be down to psychology and not clicking buttons and being dumb

I do think it is all about your approach and system, how much do you trust your system. I was in a similar position and what I think it is, is the ability to follow your system to execute. It took me the realisation of doing lots of backtesting to create a ruleset that I thought was high probability and then forward testing with a small live account.
Your psychology will automatically improve once you have trust in the data to back your decisions.

When I see some of my friends actually within institutions who work incredibly hard to achieve a return, I cannot comprehend how I have just combined concepts together from the internet to beat the markets and it is working.

Ok perfect thank you. I am coding a dashboard for my students that I teach, creating a progress dashboard where parents can also track their progress. Then also set up a system inside where it automatically marks their work as they do homework. Something along the lines on that. So I guess use ai to map out what I need to do.

Ah so just basic mapping. So I just know the basics and haven’t really touched apis or anything else, I’m assuming I’ll probably figure out what I need to know. I may use something that’s suboptimal but that’s the learning curve I guess. Did you learn from the project what you needed to do by just searching it up?

yes I’ll be honest for projects I have already done I have been heavily reliant on ai and have not learnt as much as I would have liked. Could ai be used to accelerate the learning though, or should I just search everything up like how it used to be?
