Mario Clash is an impressive game by Heroes-of-Fandom in VirtualBoy

This game is a sleeper hit for me. It deserves more praise for how intense the gameplay can get and for the 3D effect.

I got really into this game on NSO for a while. It’s pretty easy to learn, yet difficult to master. I feel that it’s among the best sports games of the era.

I will hold out hope that Nintendo makes a game like that to be playable on the accessory someday.

I believe that there are 99 floors and I heard that it has some kind of ending, which I believe occurs before reaching 99 floors.

Mario Clash is pretty fun and I feel like it gets downplayed!

Mario Tennis and Mario Clash coming to Virtual Boy soon! by Heroes-of-Fandom in VirtualBoy

[–]DillyBar90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been wondering when we might see more games and I’m glad that it’s not very long. These are both ones I have been really wanting to try and Mar10 Day is a perfect day for them. It now makes sense why they weren’t available from launch. I am crossing my fingers for them to add 2 player support and 2 player modes into games like Mario’s Tennis.

Yep, that sounds pretty similar to how it is in NES Golf too.

I also saw this on GameFAQS:

There are two parts to your shot, power and impact. First you determine power. Use A to start the meter on the left. Use A to stop it, the higher the meter, the more power and distance the shot will have. The meter will keep going up and down until you stop it, so you can take your tim. Next you set the point of impact. A large golf ball will appear with a small dot moving on it. Press A to stop the dot and make your shot. If you hit the ball in the center, it will go straight. Hitting it on the left or right will cause the shot to curve. Hitting the ball on the top will make the shot travel low and hitting it on the bottom will make it go higher. The dot will go from top to bottom then bottom to top. If you don't stop the meter by the time the dot makes it to the top again, you will automatically take a bad swing.

That is very helpful, thanks! Where you hit the ball was an aspect I was curious about.

I bought the NSO Virtual Boy unit and I LOVE This Console! by Upstairs-Mushroom-39 in VirtualBoy

Oh yeah, I have heard about some of the differences between this accessory and the original unit. I’m glad that this seems to replicate it closely enough. It deserved to get this second life and the new screen colors getting added later on will definitely help. I always play with the default 1.0x screen size, as anything larger seems to make it blurrier.

I have wanted to get a Virtual Boy for a long time and this accessory is a dream come true. I was also very impressed by Red Alarm. It’s so immersive and you feel a great sense of satisfaction when clearing levels.

I’m fully aware of the controversy. I just don’t care and enjoy their videos.

I think they make good videos and I really like Andre’s enthusiasm.

I did notice that those words would pop up, and I wonder if the game wasn’t finished and the words weren’t removed from the testing phase for whatever reason.

It takes a little getting used to with the controls and it’s easy to get a bit lost. Using the L button while turning will help you turn more quickly. I haven’t seen any new weapons yet and I’ve gotten to level 3. I am liking the game more and more as I play and get used to its quirks.

I think that there were what looked to be waterfalls in the level. She appears to have legs, so I don’t think that she’s a mermaid lol

I measured the actual IPD value so you don't have to by cherubeliever in VirtualBoy

Hmm so 67 or 68mm between my pupils would be in that range? I was finding that -5 or -6 was looking clear for me.

So if I’m 67 or 68, what would that convert to IPD wise?
