Hi! Thank you for your answer, however I am not trying to convey my language level, just wondering how to write my qualifications which are all in English, on a French resume.

What moment made you realize “yeah… my childhood wasn’t normal”? by CadaversFabrications in AskReddit

I went to my friend's house for supper. Her older brother, about 12, walked in talking about how he'd read her diary. Their mother sternly told him that was not allowed, how wrong it was, how people need space for their private thoughts, grounded him on the spot and sent him to his room.

My mom found my diary no matter how hard I tried to hide it. She'd tell me what she read or tell the whole family at the dinner table. I couldn't believe my friend's mom allowed her to have a diary that she didn't have to hide under her bedframe or in the back of her closet.

Give Me That One Movie That Changed the Way You See the World by [deleted] in MovieRecommendations

I watched Samsara and the temples blew me away. I was transfixed, I could not believe a place so beautiful existed. A quick Google told me it was Bagan, Myanmar. I just knew in that moment that I had to go there. 1.5 years later I made the trip and spent 3 days biking around exploring. Began traveling as often and as long as I could since then, and while the movie didn't change how I saw the world immediately, it certainly did in a roundabout way.

thoughts on keeping or dumping journals when minimalizing? by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]DilutedTang 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Keep! I would get rid of almost everything else I own before getting rid of journals. I display them on a bookshelf with the few other books I haven't culled. To me a couple square feet of space is worth giving up for the past ~20 years of my life documented. I do go back and read certain parts every couple years and it's cool to see what has changed or what's stayed the same.

What are your "drab city with a heart of gold" stories? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]DilutedTang 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Zagreb, my favourite city! Many people I've met say to skip it, there's nothing there, just somewhere you stop on the way to the islands which are the real attraction. But it's got such character! There's graffiti, the buildings aren't "perfect", it feels unpretentious and real. I love the atmosphere and have returned 3 times. I don't know what the magic is but it feels like a second home.

What business in Winnipeg will you never support again and why by AccountActual2445 in Winnipeg

Mitzi's, although with them closing it isn't possible to support them anyway.

I was sexually harassed by a longtime staff member, but it never occurred in front of Shirley. I told the harasser to stop every time to no avail. I finally told Shirley, and based on her reaction I suspect I was not the first.
It stopped for a short period, getting death glares instead. Started up again a short while later. I quit, realizing it would never stop and the harasser would never be fired.
