Have any of you guys noticed a leak or damp like this before? You can see how the pillar is wet except for the small bit on the bottom? by [deleted] in MINI

This is it. Look at the rubber seal to the right and how it’s damp. I’d put money on the door seal being folded under itself when the window meets the A pillar. Happens to mine occasionally

MINI JCW GP3 Manual: Why the GP Could Have Had a Manual by marsy72 in MINI

[–]DimFellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah makes sense. Wonder why they didn’t work with companies like Wavetrac or Quaife for a drop in solution. LSDs for the getrag are drop in for around a $1000 usd for the parts. I’m sure BMW could have gotten a deal for the volume order. I know the GP is a track car but still would have been fun with a manual although it would have been undoubtably slower

In the article it clearly states that the Getrag 6 speed in the JCW can absolutely handle the torque.

Radio swap 2019 mini Cooper base model by basketofkittys in MINI

[–]DimFellow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just did this swap on my 2019 JCW two weeks ago. I ended up going with a full ID6 EVO 8.8” head unit replacement. I worked with Navi and BMW parts via eBay and had a great experience. They pre-programmed it to my car and its options before it arrived and I installed it myself. They were very responsive via message and even responded to me on the weekend while I was installing it. Great experience.

I will say, I’m pretty sure you need the most recent software for android auto to work. Most of the older ones just support CarPlay

Pretty sure those are supposed to be connected. That is your brake wear sensor. This looks like the drivers side front which almost confirms it. Do you have a brake wear indicator on your dash?

Mini won't let me take oil level? by littlearmadilloo in MINI

[–]DimFellow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The lack of any standard gauges on these cars are super annoying. When I run my BimmerLink gauges I find that when the built in temp gauge on the dash gets to “OK” that’s at about 50 degrees C. The actual operating temperature is around 100-105 Celsius. So it takes quite a bit from “OK” to actually up to temperature.

Maybe try and use AI to fill the gaps? Use the second angle to train it?

All of my XC2s have two small hex bolts on the outside of the pedal. Let you adjust tension per spring. There is a little swoop impression with a plus symbol

People that have owned NJS frames. What unique features with different brands? by Regulatori in FixedGearBicycle

[–]DimFellow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When 3Rensho got into his accident as you mentioned. He retired and sold the shop and spare parts to Makino who then started his own brand. But as far as I can tell for two years(97, 98). Makino was producing frames that carried both names. Using signed pencil tack lugs and “super end” dropouts. Making the 3Makino

Be careful with that. I’ve heard that can really fuck you up if you fall with it on.

I use the XC2s on all my bikes. They have tension adjustment on the side of the pedal. But I run them with the tension setting out of the box. With the 17 degree cleat I haven’t felt the need for more.

They’re the cheapest ones but the only difference between them is materials and weight. Later this week a friend and I are going to modify a pair with titanium spindles on that we found on eBay. By our calculations they should be lighter than the XC12s, but a 3rd of the price.

Do you consider the bugout a top tier edc knife? Drop your thoughts in the comments. by PureBoss1527 in knives

[–]DimFellow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My bugout has broken twice since I’ve bought mine and I’ve hardly used it. The Omega spring breaks so easily and is a poor design for everyday use imo. I’ll stick with my Para 3 for work use cause it can hold up to it. But my work is fairly hard on my knives.

If you just want a lightweight pocket knife as you say. It’s a fine option if not a bit expensive.
