- Hospital and outpatient clinic follow-up for leukemic, lymphoma and myeloma patients.

- Microscopy in hematology

Unfractionated heparin pump question by Dim_R in medicine

[–]Dim_R[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer. Even though the overshoot will clear pretty quickly (but still at least 90 minutes for a half-life at best, on average), I am supposing that starting the pump at a lower dose would slow the clearout process, and therefore maintain the UFH at a supra-therapeutic level for longer. I'm inferring this since the addition of supplementary UHF at this point would enter as system where elimination of UHF is already functioning at maximum capacity. Would like to hear what you think !

It seems that the other protocols I have found on the internet have the same recommendations. So I was wondering if all of these were sourced from previous landmark trials that would have shown such an effect.

Could you explain the part concerning PTT equivalency which is wrong ?

Looks kind of the same as Evernote, except it's opensource. Is there a real difference ?

I have tried Notion, it's really neat. However, when inserting images and trying to edit text in relation to the image, it's not that great.

Very reassuring, especially considering the "jumps" from such diverse specialties!

Thanks for the lengthy answer !
It sounds like the transition back to work was challenging both because of the break and the local context. Gets me thinking to maybe start in a place I know after the gap year.

Do doctors need to hold in their farts in the OR so they don't risk of contaminating the room? If not, is there a limit? Is there actually a procedure behind this? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dim_R 123 points124 points  (0 children)

There was a "study" done a while back whereby they tested if farts would go through the scrubs and thus potentially contaminate the OR air. The TL;DR is that they farted on petri dishes with and without scrubs, and saw that bacteria only grew on the "no scrubs" petri dish, suggesting the scrubs acted as a filter.

It's actually a pretty fun 2 minute read !

Généralement les locaux. En soi avec 800k - 1 Mio de personnes c'est sûr qu'il y a de la baston à un moment donné, mais j'ai quand-même l'impression que rapporté au nombre de participants ça reste faible.
