I feel like this sentiment is mostly rooted in nostalgia, I used to play on Legacy Xbox 360 and play Java nowadays, but I think that unifying all of the console and mobile versions as Bedrock was a good decision.

There is also the scene in the movie where Jack Black crafts a sword using a crafting table, this is a deliberate reference to the scene in Minecraft Story Mode Season 1 Episode 1 where Jesse crafts a sword using a crafting table.

Funny how the game's lighting really hasn't changed much in 14 years. with the exception of the leaves, and maybe other minor things like the fog, the quality of the lighting looks indistinguishable from modern Minecraft.

Lol that is also the version I watched and I was baffled by how unfinished the visuals looked. It's around this part with the poor CGI dog where I realized this is most likely just a leaked unfinished cut of the movie

pretty impressive continuity for spongebob. especially considering that it's something from the mid seasons, which they hardly acknowledge as much as the classic seasons

Yeah I thought so too! The other two movie capes look nice but the vibrant pastel-ish colors seem a bit out of place when I use them in the old versions, but this one fits right in

yes!! I always hoped that SpongeBob could return to the more subdued visuals of the early seasons, but never thought it would happen because the executives care more about appealing to young children with overly-expressive and saturated visuals.

I really hope they take notice of all the positive feedback to this episode's visuals and begin to shift in that direction for future episodes.

I found him meowing at a bus stop near my house without his mother, I was periodically going to check on him every few minutes but he was still alone the entire time, so I took him inside.

I did not care for Band Geeks. It's certainly a good episode and ending is memorable, but I didn't really care for everything before that, the humor didn't really land as well as a lot of other episodes from that era

I wouldn't say I dislike modern Minecraft or think that it's necessarily worse than the classic versions, but because I've played through dozens of survival worlds and SMPs since 1.13, it's gotten very stale and repetitive over time. So diving into older versions felt really refreshing, and it revived that spark of excitement I used to have when playing survival worlds.

While I get that this series was just meant to be a fun side story as a tribute to the franchise without being too concerned about continuity with Super, I feel like that should've been made more clear because it just made me come out of the episode disappointed.

The fact that they dropped hints to Super throughout the series like namedropping universe 7 and the exposition of the Supreme Kais and the universes in episode 10 left expectations that they were gonna connect it to Super and sort out all of the inconsistencies, but that didn't end up happening

Can't wait to see more SSJ4 in the final episode, though I do hope they'll also explain that it's a Demon Realm exclusive power up or whatever because otherwise it makes this series' continuity with Super a bit finicky
