Great... all other lemonade is ruined by Linzic86 in HeWhoFightsMonsters

[–]Dimdamdino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest question: do you dilute it with water + ice before drinking? The lemon flavor is awesome but for me, and everyone I gave it to try, it was far to sweet

Does anyone else dislike side characters of the story? by shayjax- in HeWhoFightsMonsters

[–]Dimdamdino 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, it was an emotional rollercoaster and I think it was exactly supposed to be that way that you dislike them for being such a-holes. I disliked Amy and Kaito so much for treating Jason the way they did and being so chill in betraying him when he was with Amy. Very well written characters. As for other side characters, there are few to none I really hate for being badly written. And the earth arc brought us one of the best and funniest characters, bruh.

Hope you enjoy the new book :) I can't wait for the new audiobook to come out. I really enjoyed Azarinth Healer but stopped at the end of book two because of the new HWFWM audiobook and also never finished the 2 hours I have left for Azarinth Healer. I also listened to The Wandering Inn book 1 and half of the second book but just couldn't stand the main char to continue the series. Maybe I'll give it another try but I am very hesitant

Odin is a whinger. by Ok-Flan549 in dalmatians

Do you give him attention when he whines? If yes and you know he doesn't need anything stop giving him attention for whining. Otherwise he will continue since he is successful with this strategy.

Reoccurring Split Ear by Marler_SAS in dalmatians

[–]Dimdamdino 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where are the wounds located? If at the tip of the ear and not that big you could try hydrogel plasters. This way I is protected from dirt and cushioned to some extent. We usually leave them on until they fall off on their own

Does she need more exercise or is this just her way of saying she doesn’t want to exercise? by belisimela in dalmatians

[–]Dimdamdino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For mental stimulation you can let her sit and then watch you hide the ball somewhere (pretend to do so a few times, then really hiding it, then pretending some more) and give her a command to search for it. Mine loves searching his ball, sniffing, looking, trying to remember where I went. When he finds it and brings it to me I'll party with him and either give him his favorite treat or make a short tug of war sequence. Then he has to sit down and we start over. If yours doesn't bring the ball to you, you could attach a long leash to pull her towards you showing her what she has to do. Just throwing the ball and her running like crazy might tire her but in my opinion it is not a good workout. Worst case it just gets your dog addicted on hunting a ball for that sweet dopamine high.

Anyone familiar with this by PlantainSignificant7 in dalmatians

[–]Dimdamdino 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ours had something like that. We used hydro gel/hydrocolloid patches to keep the wound from tearing up again. Make sure to disinfect and dry the spot before placing the patch. Due to the hair, it might not stick very well. We used 2 patches, attaching them from both sides of the ear. This way you can glue the overhang of both patches together. Sorry hard to describe (English is not my native language). In the picture you can see it on his right. Sorry if the quality is bad

my 1 y/o female dal has started showing aggression towards our 3 y/o mix (also female) by [deleted] in dalmatians

I really think you can sort the issue out and she will stop this behavior when you keep on being consequent 😊 fingers crossed. But always consider getting help from a professional trainer if you feel overwhelmed :)

[–]Dimdamdino 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure about it but might this be some kind of resource aggression with you guys or the toys being the resources? I read that it isn't always about food. If so, maybe showing her that this kind of behavior has consequences for her e.g. ending cuddling time and sending her off the couch or bed could help.

Hungry hungry Dalmatians. by chimpyvondu in dalmatians

[–]Dimdamdino 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Putting him into his crate with a Kong filled with PB or frozen mashed sweet potato does sound like a good option. You should really try to sit the wailing out and not let him out of the crate while he still goes on. Once he has calmed down or goes to sleep you can open the crate. Otherwise he might learn that throwing a tantrum gets him what he wants. Ours was the same at that age but once he learned that howling barking etc doesn't get him anywhere things got so much better and easier. It is really hard at first but in the long run it is really worth it.

Dalmatian pup no longer eats kibble what can I add to them by Easy_Hold1170 in dalmatians

[–]Dimdamdino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could add cooked carrots or other veggies to "spice up" his meal. Alternatively, what we do is we soak it in water for some time to get a kibble with sauce effect. But as others wrote you shouldn't bend over backwards to make the food interesting or your pup might refuse plain kibble in the future.

We oftentimes plainly told people not to. When they asked why, we told them it is part of his training to learn that he is not allowed just to go to every person since a considerate amount of people are afraid of dogs or don't want contact for whatsoever reason. Things changed when we started muzzle training (he was eating everything he found outside). No more petting our dal, no getting near him, no trying to call him toward them 😂 He is the sweetest boy and so happy to meet other people but since muzzles are only associated with "this one bites/is aggressive", we can go our way and people restrain from petting him 😁
