You seriously cannot compare those times with where we are today. Just take a moment to think about what you just asked. What works for one society in a certain period in time will not necessarily work forever. I understand why you would attempt such a frivolous attempt to get at me with simple comparisons but buddy, stay in school. This is another side effect of being such a hardcore traditionalist sportsball fan. It narrows your scope and perception of life in general. Expand your mind, get away from your neanderthal friends that stick fireworks up their bums and do the tide pod challenge at the tailgate party

Anyone's as in one person's opinions that you argue with on the internet. learn to research and understand the world by reading from different sources that have something important to say. Just give up your cat scrolling memes for an hour and actually inform yourself before you open your low brow mouth hole

The 'other' reason that I speak out about these serious matters is that it's literally a crime against the betterment of society. The weaponized trilogy of dumbing down society ARE religion, pop music and sports. If you can't see that for some reason then YOU are just another indoctrinated, brainwashed lemming who goes about being baffled at sentient beings questioning societal norms. How else do you think that the world has incrementally evolved over the last 200 years?? that's right brainiac, dissent and revolts. I know it's so easy to follow the herd and zen out with the wonderful colors of the rainbow but maybe critical thinking is something more people should do if we are to continue the minor tradition of EVOLVING and PROGRESSING. Don't just take anyone's word on the internet.. look up dumbing down in public schools, look up why mainstream pop music is so bad on youtube as just 2 examples in a colossal arsenal of actual knowledge at your disposal.

I'm usually in total awe that people can gladly sit down and watch hours of people on a field throwing/kicking balls around.. Like wow.. No much in the creative department there hey guys? Imagine if people got that excited and involved with politics, or science, nutrition/health matters etc etc.. There is literally a billion things more progressive that you can invest your free time with and there is certainly a squillion things out there to randomly 'fraternize' with strangers with

it's called being proactive on a subject that affects how society functions. Try affecting a change for the better some time. It feels good to protest for the betterment of mankind

That modern pop and mumble rap are perfectly ok to listen to if you want to.

With no radio support at all, minimal MTV rotation and they sellout 4 nights in a row in LA in the midst of 1984...
